OK, I was really nervous, but I think it went well. I have finally processed most of the shots that were worth keeping. Here are a few select ones. Let me know what you guys think. Keep in mind I have no real lighting, and no flash, and this was also my first "real" photo shoot. I think they turned out well, but if you disagree, please feel free to give your honest opinion. Thanks to everyone for the advice going in to this shoot. It was greatly appreciated.

Lovely shots, well done!
I don't know what your brief was for this shoot, but I would loved to have seen some of her looking happy, at the camera, and showing the pride and pleasure of her pregnancy. They are all a little introspective.

Did she want to cover her breasts?

Pauline

Those are great!!!! I just wish that I could have looked like that when I was pregnant. Those shots are so awesome.

Thanks. I do have a couple with her smiling and will probably process later, but honestly they didn't turn out as well. She was a great model and very open and let me pose her how I wanted. I just chose not to post the ones where she was "not covered".

Smart move, that... No telling how she'd take that. From my perspective, you did very well technically, witht he dark skin - light wraps problem. Very nice! The straight-on shots don't work as well for me because they don't really "show" the pregnancy. So for me the profiles are better. The window shot is great!

Such beautiful images. This is your first Shoot? Wow I only hope my first is half as good. I think you did her alot of justice. I really like the softness to your pictures and as much as I love b&w.. I really like the sepia toned ones..

I think you've captured the pregnancy and the reflective mom in a very warm and loving way. Would love to see any others you are willing to share. I think pregnancy is so magical.. cant wait to experience it myself.

edit** caught spelling lol

Beautiful work! I sure wish I had maternity photos taken during my pregnancies but I was too shy and felt way too fat. I regret it now. Not enough to have another baby, but I do regret it. ;)

I particularly love the one with the flower. Very soft and feminine. Great job! :)

This was my first shoot of any kind. I've found out that I really like photographing pregnant women and babies. I got a little practice when my wife was pregnant and I managed to convince her to let me get a couple of shots (see my portfolio). I'm hoping this will be my first of many shoots. I really had a good time with this one and the mom-to-be was fantastic. If I get more opportunities, I'll be sure to share!

Great job PP. I agree that the profiles are better in preggy shots, but your head ons are quite decent as well. The skin tones are wonderful. The second one is a little too much "Janet Jackson" for me (the first is better), but I'll bet she'll be quite happy.

The window shot seems to be everyone's favorite...me included.

LOL.... Thanks Doc!!! I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it. She's kinda "sassy" though so she will probably like the shot.

Brilliant set of shots there. And your first real shoot?... Excellent results.

You have a great eye. And the model looks very relaxed too.

I think you nailed the lighting. Just need to work on poses a little, but Im sure you have learned alot from the shoot alone, plus all the comments so far. I would just say I would like to see her head turned up or over to the side on some of these rather than straight down so much. Other than that they are pretty darn good for your first studio work.

Wow, you really did a superb job! My favorite is the first one, with the subtle smile and slightly tilted head. The lighting is good in all of them, and I particularly like the strong back lighting of the first two. For poses, I like the first three and the ninth the best, but I'm not fond of the window one because that's a much less flattering angle on her face. The flower is also a great idea, and the look on her face in that one is very sweet (only slight problem there is the white halo around her face). But again, those are all good, you two can certainly be proud of them!
