I've been having a really bad week with chest pain, high blood pressure, high heart rates, light-headedness, and headaches, and an abnormal ekg that indicates a possible heart attack last week. I'm fed up! I've had tests done that were useless, tests that were inconclusive, and more tests today that I should get results on tomorrow. Either way, I'm still fed up. So I made up my mind - for just tonight - no meds, no stress - just Margarita Therapy. You read right - a little Jose Quervo ought to bring down the old BP and heart rate. Any one care to join me? Just set your meds aside and party!
Now to calm down those who are freakin' out about now, I am planning on monitoring myself through this little test. I have recorded a pre-margarita BP of 154/97 and HR of 98. I'll be checking between each delicious drink to see what effects I get. Don't be surprised if the typos in my posts become more and more frequent. :p

Linda, please be careful. That "Jose Quervo" is a ripoff, it's actually battery acid. Now, "Jose Cuervo" makes a decent margarita. I'm working on Stoli and mango juice right now, so I'll keep you company...

You go that right alfresco. You and your gal are welcome to drive over to Champion and join me in my private Margaritaville party. Just PM for directions.

that's funny DrAchoo. I work with docs in the ER at Marquette General. Luckily I have tonight and tomorrow night off. It was one of our ER docs who first treated me last week. Last night he asked if I had had the Cardiac CT yet - which was this a.m. - told him what I planned for tonight. I think he'll go home and drink himself now. lol

#2 is down - waited 10 minutes:

BP : 146/89

HR: 94

hmmm - this is taking more than I expected. I'm a light-weight drinker so hopefully number three will be more effectivde

Linda -

I'd come on down but Ms Margarita #1 has left the building and #2 is close to being out the door. Being the loser light-weight that I am I'll probably be napping in the next 20 minutes.

I'll stay in for the e-count as long as I can though.

Here's to home remedies!

CHEER UP!

10/27/2005 07:50:31 PM · #19
ahhhh - #3 went down so sweet and easy

BP : 155/83

HR : 93

my theory of alcohol lowering BP and HR is not seeming to work out as quickly as I had thought. Gotta go pour a fourth now.

LOL watch out your typing will soon be slurred. I hope you feel better and they find out what it is. If I wasn't going mad finding a Halloween costume that my son lost I would join you. Maybe I can do shots in-between losing my mind and having to work tons of overtime. I guess I might actually have an image for the next challenge but I am too busy to get it.
