| I've never been to the Grand Canyon but if I went and that was there I'd HAVE to go on it. I am a little afraid of heights but I would not be able to pass that up. |

awesome! i'd so walk on that. reminds me of the glass floor here in toronto on our CN tower.. you can stand on it, and look down about.. i dunno... 2,000 feet or something like that.
tried to post a pic.. gave up.

| Are you kidding? What kind of photographers are you anyway? A man or a mouse???!! :) hehe...I figure I'm in a lot more danger in my car than I would be on that thing. Probably take a few minutes to relax and enjoy, but I think it would be just awesome!!! |

LOL! I'm twitching too. I don't think I'd allow anyone in my family on that. It just doesn't look right without any supports. Imagine all the stress concentrated on the flats of the walkway where it leaves the building! I think those architects skipped their engineering statics and dynamics course.

It's not being first on it which is the problem, it's being on it when there's 200 other people and kids running around.
Personally, I'd design in more redundancy, like some suspension cables -- there's not that much to look at upwards there.
And how are they going to keep that floor clean enough to see through -- can I get the fuzzy-slipper concession? |

You could get everyone to jump up and down at the same time to really test it.

Hopefully there will be some holes in the floor and walls - the distortion from 4 inches of glass will be difficult to eliminate otherwise.

I am surprised that no-one has made the obvious comment. Who allowed them to deface a natural wonder. Next there will be rows of condos all along the canyon.

That's exactly what I thought of when I saw this. I was only three years old here in KC when that happened, and I STILL remember that. ALmost the same as Challenger and 9/11 for me.

Does anyone know if they've built a (secret) "observation station" a couple of levels below? Ugh, I just had a vision of photographers on the canyon floor, with tripods and those three-foot long white lenses ... pointing straight up : (
