Getting near the date (Friday 28th - Sun 30th Oct) so if I can firm up the people definitely it would help with practical details.
I've got the following names
Falc
Benhur (arriving Thurs evening)
riot
Bod & Aurora
Bobster Lobster
Saswaa + Liz
e 301 ( not definite?)

If you can confirm and let me know if anyone else is bringing a partner it would help. Also let me know how long you want to stay ( Fri night, Sat night) so I can sort out sleeping arrangements!

I'm going to pass over to John(P2jvr) to give an idea of what we planned.
Sat am - dales area around Pately Bridge for dawn (possible mist and valleys)
Early - Brimham Rocks
Followed by Fountains Abbey / Deer Park (National Trust property)
other possibilities include Cathedral

Sunday Swaledale walk / Hackfall woods walk (John Aislaby designed woodland with follies)
other suggestions welcome.

My wife (Eliza) might be interested in coming as well... don't know if we can do the whole weekend, it may just be Saturday but staying overnight if poss. to enable being able to drink! Can I confirm nearer the time?

Just checked with the powers that be and have my pass stamped for the Saturday, unfortunately I have to be back on the Saturday evening so won't be able to stay over. Family has to have at least one day of the weekend ;-)

So let me know where to meet very early Saturday am. I'm quite used to pre-dawn starts.

The Thorp Perrow Arboretum might be worth looking at:
//www.thorpperrow.com/photo-gallery.html
It's where I took these:

I would imagine that autumn would suit the gardens really well.

Steve Gosling photographs here a lot : //www.stevegoslingphotography.co.uk/treesandfoliage.htm

Thorp Perrow sounds like a good possibility, perhaps for Sunday?

Bob, we would be pleased to meet your wife as well.

Hello Pauline
Just found out about your GTG.
my husband Stuart 'stupot' and I would be interested in joining you,
that is if you don't mind a couple of Lancastrians joining in -we've had our passports stamped!
Unfortunately we can only join you for the Saturday, if you could let us know where we might meet up it sounds a great idea.

Hello, i exist! Not entirely sure if i can come yet though, it's a fairly long way and all... and the student loan's not holding out all that well. If i can make it, i'll be able to come up on the friday evening at the earliest and have to leave at sunday lunchtime at the latest. Can't elucidate any further on the matter yet though, sorry :)

Great, riot - would love to see you if you can make it!

Sorry if I missed you out - For some reason I thought you couldn't get here! If you are coming up by public transport let us know so we can arrange to pick you up.

Really looking forward to meeting you all - although still not sure who is coming!
Seems like ben (from Thurs), falc (sat), bobster and possibly Eliza( sat +sat night), babaraanne & Stupot(sat)

possibly riot

not heard from bod or saswaa yet

Ben since you arrive first on Thursday night you get the best bedroom! Glad you're bringing clothes with you!

Will be back later with a meeting place & time - probably Brimham Rocks cafe at 10.00 am ? Shall we set an earlier time/ place for the early birds?

I'm afraid I'm still in Italy on this Sakamoto/Alva Noto gig, so I won't be there. Man, I'm missing the Dales in the autumn though. Hope you all have a grest time.

Yes - I'm an early bird - I'd like to hit dawn somewhere.
If no one else fancies that I will stop off on the way up.

Hi Falc
I think there will definitely be other early birds so we will come up with a place and time to meet.

Still hoping to hear from Saswaa and Bod and hear if riot can make it.
Also if Bobster is bringing Eliza.

Please get back to me with plans.

Weather looks like it is brightening up for the w/e but bring waterproofs! It's not cold just wet at present particularly underfoot.

Sorry for the late notice, but it looks like I probably won't be able to make it... I'm up to my eyeballs in work and I need to get it all done by the end of the weekend :-(
Hope you all have a good time!

Scotland would be good. How about a weekend on Skye? Sometime next May or September.
