I'm tossing up the 24-105L or the 24-70L but no-one has the 24-105L added yet. Could we add this lens to the list? Does anyone have the 24-105L and have some pics available? Anyone got any suggestions as to which is a better buy? |

I've been thinking of selling my 28-70 2.8L to get this one instead.

I think this will be my Xmas gift to myself this year. I will sell my 28-135mm IS. It'll complete the L F4 series ... I have the 17-40LF4 and the 70-200F4.
edit: Oops ... this is Jacko .. posted from my parents' computer. I should use my brother's account to cause some s&?%$.

Here's a comparison between the 24-105mm f/4L IS and the 28-135mm IS
...and a comparison between the 24-105mm f/4L IS and the 24-70mm f/2.8L
If you have no need for the extra stop of light the 24-105mm f/4L IS is as close to the ideal walk around lens as you can get. If I hadn't already bought the 24-70mm f/2.8L I'd seriously consider the 24-105mm f/4L IS lens.

I recently purchased that lens when I bought my Canon 5D. This is my first SLR (I'm moving up from the Sony DSC-F828).
I've got a few pictures posted on flickr taken with this combination.
I've also posted a set of pictures that shows vignetting on this combination. In real use, though, the vignetting has been much less noticeable to me.
