That'll be Ford, Carter, Clinton, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr., the only living presidents. Too easy...

What row of numbers comes next?

1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221

This may not be a maths problem

Correct

Starting with the second line, every line describes the line before it. In writing, it is:
One One
Two Ones
One Two One One
etc.
etc.

I found that riddle in a french novel called "les fourmis" (the ants) and I loved the simplicity of it! I challenged quite a few people with it and only one guessed it. I hadn't!

I was impressed with the simplicity of it.
When I first saw this I spent hours with pen and paper trying to solve the problem.

A harvest sown and reaped on the same day
in an unplowed field,
which increases without growing,
remains whole though it is eaten within and without,
is useless yet the staple of nations.
