I need a new USB interface cable for my 300D. In the user manual the part number for the component supplied with the camera is IFC-300PCU but I have failed to locate this number on Canon (UK) web site. I have found IFC-400 which is supplied with the 350D and is listed by several suppliers but nothing to show whether it is suitable for the 300D. Help would be appreciated.

Its probably much faster, easier and cheaper for you to get a USB card reader for a couple of quid.

Arr. No point bothering to install all that Canon software.. Or using the USB cable for transferring. The 300D is USB 1.0 anyway.

Besides.. It's much more convenient to just pop the card in, so you don't have to bother fiddling with the camera.

Oh, and if you really insist on USB cables.. Isn't the 300D USB port a standard mini-USB? Shouldn't be hard to find those.

if you want a new USB cable for your camera, go to the local computerstore and buy one...

they only come in 3 types,

with the "normal" USB plug on both ends 1 female ,1 male (extension cable)
with the "normal" USB plug on one end, and the square plug on the other (printercable)
with the "normal" USB plug on one end and the mini USB plug on the other (camera cable)

so just look or ask for a USB cable with mini USB plug, and you'll get your camera cable :)

but I do recomend a USB2 or FireWire CF card reader, it's not just faster, it's 40x faster :)
