When I was in university, midterms never prevented ME from taking part in extra curricular activities. ;-)

To solve the in-laws problem, you could try faking the flu. Put some pillows under the blankets on your bed, then sneak out the window. Ferris Beuler style.

Uhm I've been relegated to the basement, and the basement windows have grates on them. Any other suggestions? :P
