Good job, stare!!! I'm hanging in the mid high 4's - I'd be happy with a 5. ha ha ha ha

I think many don't realize there is complEmentary and complImentary. They don't mean the same and for this challange the E is key in the word.

there are more than one color wheel and more to them than the primary colors

I was one who did the mistaken spelling. My brain didn't kick in until a couple of minutes after the voting started. Oh well. Like I said before ... it's going to be a long week.

d - thinking ahead for a change...

the only thing better would have been not reading this forum...eek, people get so worked up over a learning site, with no real prizes...complementary and all...so people got it wrong, point it out, score however you want to, , lose the exclamation marks and take some pictures...

Main Entry: com·ple·men·ta·ry
Pronunciation: "käm-pl&-'men-t(&-)rE
Function: adjective
1 : relating to or constituting one of a pair of contrasting colors that produce a neutral color when combined in suitable proportions

Main Entry: com·pli·men·ta·ry
Pronunciation: "käm-pl&-'men-t(&-)rE
Function: adjective
1 a : expressing or containing a compliment b : FAVORABLE
2 : given free as a courtesy or favor
- com·pli·men·ta·ri·ly /-'men-t(&-)r&-lE, -(")men-'ter-&-lE/ adverb

Now with that said I still got the "wrong shade" of one of my complementary colors, or so I'm told.

LOL.

I want to scream but as this is not the rant thread I will curb my desire to and simply state:

Look at the entire color wheel, not simply the reds and greens. There are varient shades on the wheel and as long as they are opposite, they are complimentary. My photograph is getting voted down yet they are an exact opposite on the wheel. The photograph itself is no ten but there is no way it is a 4.6 either! When I woke up this morning and checked it, it was at 5.6 and 38 votes. Now, I am at 50 votes and 4.6.

As I am really frustrated, it is time to leave and go pig out on something high in fat, carbs and anything else that is really really bad for me.

Another 4. whatever. With one comment; "These are not complemenary colors." I'll have to call my college professor who taught me color theory! It seems my color wheel is missing a spoke! I must get a new Pantone book! I hope when the challenge is over, to sit at the feet of this sage and learn the error of my ways. Just think, a bold new color theory seperate and distinct from all those errors that I learned from Birren and Albers. Who says we aren't enjoying a fine learning experience! Bitter, who? Me?

If it weren't for that 8a - noon dip into the fives..., I think people needed more coffee before playing this morning.

Time to vote! (Note colorwheel in hand, b/w not complementary colors, fish swim, birds sing, ducks quack, there's always room for Jell-O ...)

Useless interesting statistic #1

the comment ratio I have so far is

3:1

female to male.

I wonder if I'm too in touch with my feminine side. Or is this not a statistical anomaly and more women comment than men? Inquiring minds want to know ...
10/05/2005 10:00:54 PM · #114
I think from a sociopsychological point of view, women tend to be more chatty, thus I think they comment more. I mean, most men won't follow you around, reiterating a point for 30 minutes til you get it, but name a woman who hasn't done that. Woah - maybe I'm getting way off subject here. LOL

Just my opnion.

lol @ Judy :)

btw - you *were* one of my commenters. And yours *was* the longest comment ... hmmmmmm :)
10/05/2005 10:21:59 PM · #116
Judy has a 7:1 comments made/recd ratio (used to be 10:1, but BradP noticed it)

Judy is a major asset to dpc, imo.

Plus she's a cutie :)

And I'm serious about that asset comment.

If you look at the color wheel that ricki11 posted, you will notice that black is not on it, let alone opposite blue. Sorry Calliope.
