and is it worth it? Most sites I see charge a yearly/monthly fee. I was curious if most people come out with the royalties from their sales.

I think anywhere worth joining won't charge a monthly or yearly fee.

The places that need to charge this, don't earn enough from their picture sales to warrant you uploading tons of gigs of photos.

Are you sure? Most stock photography sites are designed with image buyers in mind, not the image makers, so mentions of monthly charges etc are generally aimed at the people wanting to buy the images
