Your entry should be at the bottom of the last page of photos in the voting line up.

I think you might have to vote for enough of the photos for your votes to count first (20%, in this case - 48 or so).

Yeah, that is a bummer. Better luck next time.

Don't worry, it's there. The bad news is you might have just DQ'ed youself by violating your anonymity.

Oh for goodness sake. Now I've seen it too and saw it also a few minutes ago when going through my first scan of the challenge entries.

If you were worried about it not having been entered properly why on earth didn't you contact site admin/ council to check before plastering the image in the forums and, as has been said, voiding the anonymity.

Just to let you know, I've edited your post so the image isnt there. However, anonymity isnt a written in stone rule that leads to DQ. Its just not generally accepted. The photo will not be DQd but you may be punished in the scoring by people who saw the photo in the forum.

Just about every week we go through this and it's getting annoying. When you submit, you get some sort of a confirm screen where you are invited to edit the submission. When you click on that, you see the thumbnail, the whole picture as it will be shown during the challenge vote, and the details. That's not all that hard to figure out, is it? And i click on the edit with every submission, to see the pic at dpc and whether the thumbnail looks okay. If you see all that, you know your pic is in the mix. (You can also request a site email confirmation of receipt of the picture by the site.) Could the Admins please say something to that effect in that confirm screen for the newcomers and for those who don't quite understand the meaning of anonimity.

Ambrose, your pic had already been edited out by Konador when i saw this thread. If it hadn't, i'm one of those folks who take a number of points off for clearly discussing/showing one's submission in the forums.

As opposed to those who have their own message boards and journals to discuss their entry? Voting isn't 100% anonymous, but we try to be close. Taking points off for openly discussing - is it really necessary? Are we so scared someone's going to say "oh and this about-to-be-blue-ribbon-shot is mine"? I agree it's simple - but she obviously missed it. I don't remember her posting her first entry, so she obviously got it the first time. There's a LOT going on here at DPC - I think it's easy to get lost in the mix.

I realize voting isn't 100% anonymous. If you want to discuss/show your submission before/during voting with a friend or relative, i have no objection to that at all. I am not in favor of discussing one's submission publicly in the forums during the vote. There have been too many of those attempts and sometimes with comments such as 'i only started photography one week ago' or 'i have a crappy camera' or 'this wasn't my best work but boy was i sick the day i took this pic' etc, etc, etc. I am not in favor either of showing one's submission on other sites either, including one's own web site, since we are only talking about a one week delay before you can spam the whole net with it, if you so wish.

On my home page, I see a thumbnail of my submission to the current challenge every time I come here. Doesn't that show up for everyone? That's my main confirmation that I'm in the challenge...

And... how's annonymity going to work on the self-portrait challenge? ;-)

You can set your preferences in the "preferences" section to have the info on the main screen there, or not there. So, no, it doesn't show up for everyone.
We're just going to have to get over the annonymity in the SP challenge. lol
