Slippy I will add you to my list because I love fraud,corruption,anarchy and anything else that gets a reaction like this has.
What this has highlighted is the fact that some people take this whole virtual ribbons and fav's thing way too serious. Please everyone this is funny and it was done by someone who is funny just having a bit of fun let's keep it in prespective.
If your reason for being here is to see how high you can climb the favorite photographer list then maybe you should think about having more fun.
Slippy if I get drawn out please redraw it.

i don't want to be thought of as a "nofunnick poopoo head" (*rolls eyes*) or a jerk, but i continue to feel extreme disappointment by this.
for me, the Fav. Photographer list has always been somewhat of a Holy Grail and i still get excited every time someone adds me to their fav. photographer list or favs one of my photos. it still means a lot to me. i have no illusions that i will make it to the top list but it's always been a goal to shoot for. i don't have the money to buy memberships for others (in fact, my membership renewal was a gift from BradP because i couldn't afford to renew *hug Brad*), so if that is the new method of making it to the list, i'll definitely never make it there.
i've never looked on the fav. photographer list as a popularity contest and anyone i add to my fav lists is because i admire them and respect their work. i certainly hope that is the reason people add me to their lists. i do not wish for favs for any other reason.

I think it's great that you think of the list in this way and that you use it this way but I do think it's very naive to assume or even impose that others think of it the same way.
It has always been (since I have been here) used in two ways - one as a way of keeping tabs (and giving kudos) to photographers whose work one admires and two as a way of keeping tabs on friends and people who are of interest for other reasons - it makes it quicker to access their profiles to PM them for one thing.
I can understand your disappointment that it isn't universally thought of and used in the way that you think of and use it but life is kind of like that in every arena isn't it?
And you're on my list because I respect the work AND like the person.

Good googly moogly... I go to training for one day and come back to this? Sheesh. I think I'll go back to inservice. ;)
On a lighter note, I only add people to my faves when the planetary alignment and the barometric pressure are in conjunction as ordered by my numerologist. And only on Tuesdays. I think shoe size is a factor as well. I haven't checked the charts, but today might be a good day for anyone with a shoe size greater than 10 to be added to my list. PM me. :)

I will give you 458 favorites if you can get one of the admins to give you those who have put me on their favorites list. Drivel such as that shown in this thread makes it absolutely pointless and worthless to be on the list at all.

Well sher - one way to voice your opinion is to de-fave Slippy. I don't think this is how I want the faves list built so that is what I did. I was the 24th person to add Slippy - before this post by about a month - and I exercised my vote to remove him. You haven't - so......maybe that's where you start? :)

man, were you expecting such a heddy rush of power today, or was it an unexpected plus to your workday? hey! there's a thought...show this thread to your boss so they really understand just how much power and influence you hold over people. they'll soon realize that you can crush them like tiny little grapes, that they aren't valuing you appropriately, and they'll give you a promotion and a big raise once they see the error of their ways! i like it!
if i weren't at work i'd raise a glass to ya. (no bottle opener on-hand, sorry!)

That's one view for sure. I didn't do it for spite - I did it for realism. He "shouldn't" have 140 faves, so ...
