I think you should be allowed to vote on most but not all images. Some people may be unable to unbias themselves when voting on a picture when they know who it was taken by. They should be allowed to pass on voting in those circumstances.

But how would you know whose picture it is unless someone told you? Personally I have only known once beforehand and that didn't influence my opinion. I would have liked the photo anyway. I don't think that bias is a really big problem in the challenge. We have bigger problems with the people giving out an excessive amount of low votes and even that is probably across the board. Besides, what will happen when we have been at this awhile and we start recognizing each other's styles? I don't intend to stop voting on someone if I think I know who took the photo.

Reuben, I went back and noticed a point you made that I do agree on. You said we should be allowed to pass on a vote. I guess for whatever reason you don't want to vote on a photo, then maybe that should be allowed.

Imagine you went out photographing with your friend. In this case, much of your own input may have even gone into their photo. But the point isn't that, the point is there may be good reasons to pass that we haven't even thought of.

Now I don't always disagree with you. It may seem that way cause I debate a lot. Oh, and here is a surprise-I understand where you are coming from about the photo shoots with a friend. Your points are well made and I totally agree (this time).LOL
