There seem to be quite a few of us in the Pacific Northwest (of the USA) and the Pacific Southwest (of Canada). I was wondering if we might try to organize a GTG for later this fall or perhaps next spring.

Any interest?

One suggestion might be the west coast of Vancouver Island (for the scenery and seascapes) plus a side trip to Victoria (for historical urbanism).

Just putting out ideas.....

Vancouver, being at the hub, may be more easily and quicker to get to and back for most. Scenery and seascape, urbanism, well... 360 degrees. :-)

Ahhhh Buchard Gardens! It's been 10 years since I have been there and what a great photo paradise - if you like flowers. It's a great idea.

I love the idea of vancouver, and that much cheaper for those of you south of the border : )
Love to see you all

What with the mad cow disease, SARS and pot-smoking hippies that populate Canada, I'm suspecting it will be forever easier for Americans to come up than for Canucks to come down. Just a thought.

My dad lives on the Key Peninsula NW of Tacoma, so I'm usually up that way once a year. I'd actually like to go to Vancouver, but going to the island sounds like too much traveling and not enough photographing. Sounds like it would be quite a coincidence if I were there when you do this, but I'll keep my eye on you anyway.

I probably agree that Vancouver or Seattle would be easiest. However, I would note that the travel to the Island (from Vancouver or Washington State) is mainly by ferry on some of the most photographic water anywhere in the world.

I do several "one week car camping" trips throughout each summer and for the most part don`t know where I am going to stop or stay until I get there. Last year I hiked the Hoe Rainforest inside the Olympic national park, Mt. Baker in the north cascades and Mt. Rainier. This year, heading north across the border to check out new territory and new campgrounds sounds interesting. And while in the neighborhood, I would love to meet the many local DPC members and put a face to the user names I have grown to know. For a destination to meet... HHmmmmm... interesting, considering the possibilities.

OOhh sounds great! If I'm not busy in school, count me in. My preference would be somewhere other than Vancouver since, like frisca, I live there. But I don't care so much. :)

Sound interesting, to be able to meet some of you. Vancouver would be OK, but I live here with Frisca and (soon to be) Starblazer, so else where would be nice as well. Although I have been most of the places mentioned already, it would be nice to visit again.

The only thing I don't like about going to the Island is paying for the ferry. Maybe because I remember the day when it was much cheaper.
