Hi, I am a poor college student trying to buy a Canon digital rebel. iv been doing a lot of research and am begining to think that buying the camara body, lens, and battery all seperatly will give me the best possible price. i am wondering if you guys know of the cheapest online stores for accecories, and exactly what acceciries i really need. i figure id need a tripod, a lens cleaning kit, 1 gig memory card, a battery, a UV filter, and a case. is there anything im forgeting? do i need an external battery charger, or is just buying the battery enough?

I currently am helping a friend sell an absolutely mint-condition 300D Rebel with kit lens, battery charger, UV filter, remote release, and a thrid-party "how-to" book for getting the most out of the cam (in addition to allt he original documentationa nd CDs). He's asking $400.00 for it. We've already sold several of his lenses and his speedlight,a nd everyone's delighted with what they've received.

Buying it as a kit is cheaper assuming you don't want to spend extra money on an upgraded lens. The best places to buy are buydig and B&H.

Depends on what you were thinking in terms of a lens/lenses though.

Always good to check ResellersRatings before buying from a store.

The only places I've order camera stuff online is from is BhPhoto and my camera was purchased from Dell, and Amazon.

Dell seems to have great prices but hot items like Canons seem to have a huge delay on shipping or backorder. Their ratings are so hot, but my *ist DS made it to me in less then a week.

BHPhoto is the place where I purchase most of my accessories for my older digital cameras and items are usually received in 3-5 days depending on when I order. As they observe Jewish holidays you may want to check their closing days before ordering anything at the last second.

Not always the cheapest but very reliable and quick.
