Hey, you never told me how it went in Watkins. How'd you like the gorge? Did you hit any of the other waterfalls?

Did you get to any lighthouses on Lake Ontario?

I hope you get out this way again. If you do, be sure to let us know!

Watkins was very nice. Niagra falls is all were able to get in before our flight. I was dissapointed about not getting to the lighthouses. ;o(

If u send me that raw file I can PP it for you.

Email isn't going through yet. I'll keep trying. Here's a few more pics though...

Wow, some nice shots you have there Jen! Your wolf pics came out pretty good too, much better than mine. What ISO are those that you put up?

Thanks, Dave! Most of the wolves were shot on ISO 1600...and it's noticeable in full view. :-/ I like yours better than mine. Yours are nice and sharp. That f3.5 made a difference. I left you some comments. Great shots!

I found this web page by searching "Google" by "fall foliage ithaca". Here, I add a link to recently uploaded images of similar waterfalls.

Glad you found us Alexey. You have some nice photos there. Hope you decide to stick around and participate on the site. We've got a growing little community of folks from the Finger Lakes around here. You should also check out these sites if you're interested in local clubs and outings:

Finger Lakes Photographers and Cayuga Nature Photographers

Thank you for useful links. It would be interesting to visit local community for possible outings or exchange of information.

I'd encourage you to check out the Cayuga Nature Photographers. Their next meeting is Tues. Nov 15. Many members are Cornell faculty and staff members such as yourself.

Not unless you are up to organizing one :-) We've been using the Finger Lakes Photographers site that I posted above to plan new meetings, but I don't think anyone has tried to set up one for this weekend. Feel free to sign up over there (it's free) and introduce yourself. Given the holiday season and cold weather approaching, I imagine the frequency of our get togethers will diminish somewhat, but you never know who might be up for going out to shoot.

This weekend, local weather will be quite warm, around 69 F.

That's true, so there may be some folks interesting in a get together. I'm unfortunately tied up this weekend, otherwise I'd be jumping at the chance to get out. I see you've signed up over at the finger lakes site, so post a message and see if anyone else is interested in getting together. Good luck and hopefully next time I can join you.

So.. I decided to check out the mountains this weekend. Took advice from here:

I suffered simular fate as scalvert. I droped my camera and broke my clear filter. It looks like the same place too. I'm not going back there again. The photographers are not welcome in that place.

Well, there were several towns and supposedly old Indian grounds flooded when they built the reservoir. Could be haunted...

No more MeThoS, huh? Hi, Brent!

These look good. I think I like the second one better. I like a little less saturation. I will have to play around some more. I just had a quick go at them to get them posted so you could see. :-D

Pretty mushroom...

Pretty mushroom after my tripod arm swings around and wacks it. :-/ Luckily Dave had shot it first! :-D

Hey! I did end up there today after all because I was delivering an injured squirrel to the vet hospital on campus. The girls, James and I went over to the plantations for a while but next time I want to go with the grown ups or just one kid, LOL!

I'm still figuring out my camera for the most part but it looks like Dave is having a blast with his!

Might post some pictures later
