So I was watching a documentary about ansel adams this weekend. His black and whites always inspire me. I took this picture on a camping trip. It was taken using a Nikon N80 with Kodachrome 100 slide film. Scanned using a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED with an automatic slide feeder. Edited quite a bit using photoshop.
What do you guys think?

Nice job. Yes, it has that AA feel to it. |

Very nice. Hope you don't mind, I've been on an Adams kick lately trying to emulate his style in landscape photographs. What do you think?

conglett, Did you increase the contrast even more? Or super sharpen it?
Ray: I find that I take my best pictures when I am not thinking about a contest or theme. I have not been able to take what I consider to be a great picture for a running contest yet.

I enjoy black and white as well. It's hard not to be inspired by him when you go to Alaska and are standing where he was.

Kind of. I used curves in Photoshop to push the darks darker, and the lights lighter. Add a little noise (he tended to use high ISO film I think) and you've got subtle but I think significant differences. |
