Scott, that truly sucks man. So often people that don't deserve it get everything handed to them , and those that truly deserve get the short end. Try to be thank-ful for what you have, and remember that when things seem like they can get no worse, they probably will, but eventually things will work out, and you will be stronger for it. Keep your head up and take care man. God bless you and your family, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I will think about you guys out there, say a prayer for you. Just don't give up. Never give up.

Sorry to hear about this too. You've helped me alot also. I'll say a prayer for you and your family too. Hope things work out for you soon!

You've been a strong and good influence on these pages. You will be missed.

A suggestion: this may be a difficult time for you, your wife and your kids. But look for and save up the sweet, funny, or special moments. When this is over, you will treasure the difficult times that brought you all together.

Scott--I am sorry to hear that. I hope you have a library nearby with a public accessible internet connection so you can touch base with us and let us know how you are doing.

And I am hopeful that you will be back with some good news soon!

sorry to hear that, but you could always pack your bags and move to Iceland, we have the lowest unemployment in the world, our wellfare system is one of the best in the world, and we are in 2nd place on the list of "best country to live in"

and your disability would be reviewed and approved in just a few days.

just say you come from new orleans or some other place destroyed by Katrina, and you could come as a refugee with goverment help and all :)

Good luck to you and your family.
I wish you the very best.

That's some hard luck, but I'm sure you'll bounce back. Lean times are a good opportunity to improve your marketable skills, happened to me. So now's the time to make some decisions, formulate a plan, and put it into action. It won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile usually is. I don't know what it's like in the states, but there may be some good, funded programs where you can learn something in demand.

Good luck, and as my granny would say, keep your pecker up.

I hope you post back sometime in future about your success.

Dear Scott, I am just hoping and hoping you won't have to give up DPC or any of the other fun things in your life. I'll miss your kind comments and level head too much.

Perhaps a miracle will turn up for you, so often they do just when you need them the most.

It seems weird to say it but I do feel that something wonderful is coming up for you and your family very soon.

Scott, we'll miss you - who'll do our number crunching now?
I'll cross fingers that you'll be back on board really soon.

This really saddens me. I'll probably be slated for this, but it comes from the heart: Here we are on DPC raising funds for Katrina victims along with the rest of the world. But here is one of our own virtual community who is an indirect, invisible victim of Katrina and we can do little to help?

Good luck man! That's a rough bit to handle. I only hope the best for you and yours. As far as DPC goes, like Tom Bodett says, "We'll keep the light on for ya!"

You can get free net access via the library, so you need no disappear completely.

My method of cutting back: Cable internet, and basic TV cable (to let the internet in they have to let in all the other TV channels) so cable and internet is $$60 a month. I went to vonage phone via the internet for $27 a month, unlimited everything and all the features too. My verizon was $77 a month all by itself!

Can you turn some of your photographic skill into cash? pet photos or senior pics - easy stuff. Senior pics pay VERY well. Put those teenage boys to work on that!

Life has many ups and downs. It is a train that the majority of us have to ride. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish you a speedu recovery both in health and fortune. We will certainly miss you.

Scott - I'm really bummed to hear that man. I always enjoy your feedback and you've taught me a lot. You were one of the first members on here to reach out to me and I really appreciate it. I've also seen your photography improve and your skills grow. I hope that things work out for you quickly and that you don't have to give up your equipment or Internet service, but I do understand. Hang tough and I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers...

You hang in there Scott and keep plugging away!
I've been through the red tape too as my husband is permanently disabled from a stroke. He only has his social security, so I have been looking for work (seems forver) and will start training for a post office encoding job on Monday.
Life is just plain hard, but don't give up!

It has took me a while to read through each post one-by-one. I want to thank each and everyone one of you. The wife and I have talked and worked some things out tonight and it may not be as bad as it first looked.

With that said, yes there will be some cut backs, but hopefully not so deep. Our main goal is to keep things running in our household to the point that it effects our children to the very minimum.

Again thanks, all of your kind words throughout today made me more up beat and confident when I talked to my wife tonight. I think things are going to be ok.

I do have on thing to ask. My wife has stepped up to the plate and preformed to the highest degree when I had to resign from work. She never complained even though it was tough for her to get back in the workforce being out for 14 years. Now a year and a half she finds herself being out of a job. She is taking it hard. I can tell her all day that she is great and done a wonderful job but she still hurts inside. Please keep her in a special prayer, she is a wonder and amazing woman that has stood by her family and done everything and more. She is a true champion.

I was browsing through Scott's prints for sales. He's been donating all his proceeds to ClubJuggle's MS walk. Why couldn't we hold a fundraiser after the MS walk is complete - for Scott - by purchasing our favorite prints of his?

Dear Scott Whiddon
Read your post. It is really sad what you are going through . I can very well understand it as my family is going through same crisis .I guess that is life. I know you have to cut down on expense.

It was really disheartening to read you might even have to sell your camera equipment. I just hope you don’t have to cause I had to sell my equipment and it pained like hell. Not because I am materialistic person. It is because photography meant so much to me and to sell your photography equipment is like parting away with part your body.

I wish I could help you but sadly cannot but I read below given lines on net and I always boost me.

IF GOD ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS HE IS INCREASING YOUR FAITH, IF HE DELAYS HE IS TESTING YOUR PATIENCE, IF HE DOESN'T HE GOT SOMETHING BETTER FOR YOU.

I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom :)

Wishing all the best for you and your family and hoping to see bouncing back high soon
