I would love to make it...but I am getting my practice ready to open. I have way too much to do and not enough time to do it. It is going to be in Nort Georgia..just outside of Dahlonega. I'll give you guys directions to it (its right on the main highway) and you can stop by for a drink if you wish. I feel sooo guilty, I havent shot anything in almost a month.
Take care guys and gals.

Be careful, we just might take you up on that offer Kiro! :-)

CTCurry, as far as I know, the last thing I heard was we were heading to Helen. I'm not familiar with it at all, so maybe Rex or someone else who is can suggest a good meeting place and I suppose we should start talking about what time too. Hope you can join us. :-)

Jen,

I shot all day in Dalton Saturday (Oct 29). You can see some of the color already changing up in Fort Mountain State Park.

I just thought you might wanna plan a personal trip out of Atlanta before 11/19 if you want to get some fall color changing.

Is this still on? Timing has changed so the 12th is open for me again. Anyone still interested in the 12th or 19th?
11/01/2005 04:03:06 PM · #58
Yeah, I was afraid of that. The leaves have really started changing down here just over the last day or so..... I think Eden and I are gonna try to get out to a local waterfall before the leaves start to fall but I'm still in for the 19th if not just to get together and hang out. I think something came up on the 12th for Rex (James) so I think the 19th is a good date. He was going to look into a good meeting place but I know he just started a new job so things might be a little busy for him right now.

By the way Kevin, you got some good stuff there. I think he's gonna become your signature model. :-) He's got such a distinct look.

Yes Jen you are right it is very busy. For some reason this company expects me to work. hmmmmm. I will check into a place by Sunday and inform unless someone else figures out a good place to meet by then.

Kevin it seems you go to Helen a lot more than me. Is this a good place to walk and take photos? Also with the new Blue Ribbon we might can tie Eden to a tree and leave here for the wolves so she doesn't have another chance to whoop our asses. But she is experienced in Kickboxing I think so we might have to sneak up on her or she will whoop our asses.....

Edit to add: I went to Barnsley Gardens last weekend and that was a few hours worth of stuff if anyone thinks we need to change it.

Hey James . . .

DUCK!

I haven't been to Helen, that shot was from Fort Mtn State Park (west of Helen) but the leaves are changing already up here in Chattanooga. I'm very interested in Barnsley Gardens and its closer for most. Would that be easier for you, James?

Hey ya'll, I have about dried out from Katrina and living in Atlanta again. I would like to GTG with you in Helen if I can work out the details. I do have a suggestion for a meeting place. There is a restaurant by the bridge over the creek. It has a lot of windows and great bread. I suggest we meet in that restaurant. It is called "Paul's Restaurant & Lounge." The address is 8537 Main St., Helen, GA 30545. You can't miss it.

Husband has just informed me that he's going hunting that weekend.... MEN!! I'm in the works of bribing my Mom-in-law to babysit for the day. Shouldn't be too hard. :-) I'll let you know for sure when I know for sure.

I'm up for wherever, Helen, Barnsley gardens, McDonalds.... I don't care just get me outta here!!!! :-)

Barnsley Gardens would be a lot easier for me. But it is up to everyone. There is a slim chance all the Fall Colors will be gone but either way I think we could get at least a half a day out of it. Anyone else been there?

Here are some shots taken the last weekend in October there:

Ok, got a babysitter. What time are we meeting and where?? Just let me know and I'll be there. And this time I will not be giving directions and making Rex walk back and forth and this way and that and then back again. :-)

If Barnsley Gardens is good for everyone then I am fine with that but want to make sure everyone agrees and is ok with it. I am sure there won't be a full day of shooting there but maybe we can go to Downtown Adairsville from there.

Bump for people to start chiming in... the time is coming near and we should really think about firming stuff up. I see alot of new names in this thread and would love to see more folks show up. :-)

Edit: And Barnsley Gardens is fine with me. Never been but I'm sure it will be fun.

While I was out recently, my husband lost my 2 year old son for a bit while going to get the mail. It wasn’t till he got back in the house and started opening the mail that he realized he was missing. After a lengthy search with my daughter through every closet in the house he realized my son must be outside.... He searched and called and thankfully a few minuets later my son came running from a back yard two houses away. Once all appeared to be safe he brought the children into our fenced in back yard but left them alone to go into the house to get socks (that he forgot in his earlier panic.) When he returned to the backyard my son was gone again. This time he found him quicker but still! I think I will have to pass on the GTG unless I can convince my husband and children to come with me. Otherwise I would have to be heavily sedated and I don’t think I’ll be able to operate my camera very well in that state. I’ll keep working on him.

True Story :-)

Maybe you should attach a bell to your son, or maybe one of those flags we used to put on go-carts and bicycles. yikes

ok let's set it in Stone by Monday the 14th of November.

Barnsley Gardens or Helen, GA?

I am thinking we can get more at Barnsley Gardens and if we need more time then we can go to a nearby area. But I want to make sure everyone understands and knows what is there. You can view the image I took a few weeks back in my portfolio. I do believe we will not have Fall colors.

Considering all the leaves I just cleaned out of my yard, I'm gonna guess there's gonna be not a leaf left, so if there's other stuff there that you think will be good to photograph, that's cool with me.
