Great work! This is how it all starts, Joey.

This should be a keeper. A copy of Speilberg's first homemade movie would be valuable now.

You might want to look into the music right obligations before you sell these. Giving them away is cool, I am sure.

Actually, I watched "The Village" and it has some of Night M. Shaylaman's early home videos. Joey is off to a much better start...and I think NMS is one of the best directors around today.

*Edit Okay got it to work, his stuff is pretty sweet!

Just to friends for personal use, no biggy. I'm not selling it to CNN or anything... ;-)

However, I would not wait till you get to school to do your next film. Having seen this work I think it is worth your saving up a little $$$ to move up to the next video camera grade. And then frankly, I encourage you to find some local area "punk" bands and offer to do a music video. I think you will find numerous willing "actors" in punk bands. And truthfully, your video which felt very reminiscent to a music video surpassed a lot of the crap I see on music TV.

I think it very likely you might be able to get a few music videos under your belt...and perhaps such might help with scholarship $$$ for school.

Just please remember to take school with a grain of salt and a dash of pepper. What I mean by that is "you will learn a lot in school and become aware of your mistakes" but you must at the same time recognize what you must discount from that instruction so as not to begin putting yourself in a box....learn how to improve your art but don't let it stunt your creativity.

As much as it pains me to say it, I have to agree with TheSaj. ;-) He and I may not agree politically on a great number of things, but your talent is one thing we do agree upon. I also thought that several sections were very reminiscent of music videos and I would also strongly encourage you to do just what TheSaj suggests. Glad to hear that you're already pursuing these lines of outlets for your creativity and genius. :-)

Even though we disagree politically...I think we bost do hope and want the best for mankind. We just disagree as to the best way to get there.

Sorry, for times out of line....it's just over-whelming at times. And due to situations past in my life I am a fighter. I don't believe things get worked out often any other way. *shrug*

It's actually M. Night Shyamalan, and his early home movies were the first thing I thought of when I saw this....and that Joey's is much better than the ones that I have seen. However, his were shot 15 years ago, so he didn't have the tools as easily available as we do today. By no means does that mean Joey's work is any less impressive. =)

Now the songs are awsome, strange days is one of my favorite songs of The Doors (Along with People are strange).

But I really can't say that about the movie.

Except that it was quite fun to watch ;) Would it be alright if I save it on my comp?

Oh and dude, what creeps me out is not the movie, it's the fact that you're having these dreams. Do you have trouble sleeping at night?

Yeah, I'm actually really new to computer editing. I used to do everything on the VCR until I saved up and finally bought a computer that can handle video. They have the same weirdness, but not so fancy editing ;-)

Yeah you can save it.

And yes I do have lots of trouble sleeping all time. My problem is I always have things on my mind, and always get distracted in my thoughts. But then when I do fall asleep I get messed up dreams... It's not a bad thing I guess!

And how would you know that I don't do enough acid? Exactly how much is "enough"?

*cough*

I mean--what?! I would never do that! I am a perfect, innocent little girl, remember?

Good work, Joey...I hope you're headed to Ryerson or something...

No way, I've heard some bad things about that school from family. I've heard better things about Sheridan. I'll probably go there

Sheridan Rocks for this kind of creative spirit.. I'm new here but I have to say I loved it.. what talent you have.. Wow. Good luck with pursuing your passions ;) and keep em coming

A few of the weirdest minutes of my life ... at least of the parts I can remember :D

Brilliant stuff. I liked the way the sound in the lesson was almost too crisp before disappearing into the dream sequence. Heck, I liked it all, especially all the parts I didn't understand...

What is most disturbing is that most of the music in the film was recorded decades before the director was born...and I do remember it all :(

Excellent stuff. I loved the 'backwards' piece!

You've got a great career ahead of you Joey.

But how's your ego feeling after reading this thread? :-)

Great stuff. As I said before, I'm expecting some amazing things from you some day. Just curious, who are your favorite movie makers? What movies do you like?

Very good Joey. I have a feeling we will all be saying, "I knew Joey when he was just winning ribbons for his pictures on DPC and here he is accepting an Oscar!"

Great stuff, really
