WARNING!!
Some parts of that site aren't work safe!!

Just started browsing thru the site & there's some full-frontal male nudity (and female) on there, so BE CAREFUL!!

Page that is linked to is work-safe, the rest of the site may not be.
Sorry!!

The page you linked is just awesome. Amazing street art. Eeveryone should look. But the index leads to a lot of just plain gross pages.

REPEAT: the linked page is WONDERFUL. It takes quite a while to load all the images thouhg; worth waiting for.

I saw a few of these amassed elsewhere a while ago but this is a larger collections of pictures.

The use of perspective is so accurate and so strong that the mind's eye is fooled even as the mind knows on a rational level that the pavement is flat!

And to think of this talent being expended on such transient projects.

AMAZING!

Makes me wonder what the effect would be if seen from another angle...

From one cat to another cat... wonder no more, Saracat, here's one of the pictures at a different angle. Pretty cool effect!

Art in proper perspective
Same art, different angle

Edit: Here's Bebe's working link: Julian Beever
It's got even more pictures! Thanks, Bebe.
Edit #2: Whoops! You're right, Bebe, I didn't see that. I've removed the link. Your link to Beever's page is better and has far more pictures, anyway. :-)

Oooh! Madonnaris :) I do this every summer and it's been 10 years total that I've done these events. I participate in San Rafael, CA which turns out to be the largest street painting festival in the US.

Here are some of mine (I hope it's ok to post):

The first three are from this year and the last two are from 2004. These squares are 10'x13' in dimension. It takes me about two days. Start early on Saturday and finish by early afternoon Sunday. All in fun!

Hey Tabbycat. I was trying (unsuccessfully) to get those two images to load through my portfolio because I despise the web site that you linked to & hate to see traffic driven there. If you feel the same way (take a look at the main page linked on the bottom - it's a conspiracy & anti-semitic site) you might want to link to Julian Beaver's site instead of that one. I'll post the cool look at the angles in this post:

Here's a webpage of sidewalk artist Julian Beever's work! Simply amazing. (Graphic intensive but worth the wait.)

Link doesn't work. Says "www.gneijsel.xs4all.nl can't be found - please check the name and try again".

That does look very cool, but that's not the same location in those two photos. Look at the tiles around the painting, they are regular in one but irregular in the other.

Yes I did. Thank you. I'm an architect and my company sponsors my square every year. I have some people help me out in the creation of the square so it's a lot of fun and team building. As you can see most of the imagery are "architecture" related. I think the hardest I've done is Sagrada Familia and Metropolis by Fritz Lang.

The carved stone art is the mounument sign you would find at Taliesin West by Frank Lloyd Wright. It took me a while to make it look realistic but when you have your bare hands and fingers against asphalt paving, it could be pretty brutal :)

OMG if I had one fifth of his talent I'd be happy. What amazing work!
