I want to thank the person that commented on my illusion, but didn't sign. Kinda hard to "let you know" without a name. I can't beleive my illusion is THAT good. You all aren't getting it! Please sign you names to comments. Argghhhh!!!!!

I don't think it was me in this case, but I sometimes ask people to "let me know" something about their photo but don't sign the comment.
I want to wait until the voting period is over to have any corespondence, and my comment will be identified then. This is more about time-management than anonymity, but I think we should respect that too, at least within the DPC site -- I know there's plenty of communication via other sites...
I'm hoping that on the updated site we can have a direct "reply to comment" button to bypass going to the commenter's profile page every time... |

yeah, mine is bombing this week too. lol. The way I see it, the lower my score, and the more DQ requests it's gets...the bigger winner I am! I think this is one challenge that it will be an honor to place low. lol.

But I left enough errors that I thought shurely everyone would see what I had done. Instead, nobody is getting it at all. I even added an extra element that for the "dead ringer". Arggghhhh!

I am leaving my name usually, but I do not think it's good to leave a name, then the photographer email the person to ask comment or to give explanation or come here in the forum for a battle.
I am not for 'secrecy' but I do not think it's a good idea to try to explain the photography the week of the challenge to people who 'did not get it'.
I guess we all would like to justify ourself, I am doing pretty bad thie week, I am at 4.3 and true I would like to explain it to the 2 people who commented why I did it this way ... but .. debriefing is next week if needed !
PS : I am not leaving my name on this one ;-)

In the end, I didn't submit this week, Swash, just because I knew I'd end up going through the same process you're going through right now. I am not a "Hit 'Em Over The Head" kind of person. The effect I was going to use was such a great illusion, that I had a hard time seeing the reality of the shot. So I knew that few others would get it unless my title read something like, "See it looks this way, but, in reality, it's actually completely the opposite...."
Maybe I'll post a demo shot later.

| I gave up on being subtle. I use the "big stick" type comments. Interestingly, my photo this week is doing better than last week. Even though I worked hard on last weeks photo and was kind of embarassed about this weeks effort. |

I am doing 'pretty bad' this week .. I am at 4.3 .. but it's not because the illusion is too perfect !!!! So I cannot get a refuge in 'if I have a bad score, I have been too good' ;-)
When you say 'bombing' theather .. does it mean bombing .. down or rocketing up ?
I guess Doug is doing fine .. as usually *grin*

Thank you to all those I have "talked" to today. It is gratifing to know that some people are open to discuss their scores before it's too late.
Once again, I would like to ask for photographer's comments to be displayed, even it is WAY WAY down the voting page, so those that desire ignorance can stay that way, but those curious enough to want to know the truth of what they are seeing can "check it out". I have upgraded several scores today, and expect to upgrade others as the week progresses.

You can read the comments others leave for YOUR photo, if you have it set that way in your preferences. Just click on the number of how many comments left. |
