WOW! What a great thread. I had no idea there were so many young photographers on this site and I have been here for a while. I took a peek at several of mentioned portfolios and I am amazed at the accomplishments. You should all be proud of your work. Stick around here...it's the best addiction a kid can have.

Keep up the good work!

I think your signature (in this thread) qualifies for the top 10 most god-awful signatures on DPC award - right now you're the Red Ribbon behind Idnic. ;)

(I've been told you have a new one - yay!)

I'm 18...took my first picture with a Minolta when I was just shy of 2 years old...then got much more serious about improving my photography within the past two years or so. Or something like that.

Hi everyone.

I have been on DPC for a couple of months and I have learnt a great deal but still have a long way to go.

I am 8 years old.

Thankyou everyone for your encouraging words. It helps me to learn.

My 9 (almost 10) yr old will be joining after Christmas. I'm upgrading her HP 435 to a Canon A520 for Christmas. I can hardly wait to see what she does with it! Here is one she did with her HP .. I think she has the eye :)

I'm 17, and I'm definatly still learning. I just have a lot of fun creating my photographs. I wish I could develop an "eye" as they call it.

I am so impressed with all of the young talent here at DPC. It is great that you are doing something constuctive with your spare time. In my teens all I cared about was where the next party was, got married at 18 and then I spent my 20's pregnant most of the time (3 children). Stay in photography!!!!

im 21, been here for like a year. I dont usually put any serious images (a few times I have) in challenges but its a good place to learn and get general input. I'm an advertising student and shoot/edit for paper for work. There's plenty around that age here.

LOL.. I just checked out Samuel's portfolio :) Reading the comments before people knew he was only 2 and after they knew, kept me laughing out loud. That kid can't help but be a master in a few years :)

Way to go Samuel!

Yes! I made somebodies age restrictions. It's really hard for us 25 year olds here surrounded by the sensational youngsters and wiser more mature adults. Welcome to DPC hope you enjoy your time here. It's a great community for learning and meeting great people of all ages.

Note a couple of the comments on this self portrait...
"I want to reach out and comfort this child"
"great expression on this kids face "
So yeah, even though I guess I'm not 'younger' anymore.

I am wanting to register my nine year old daughter and managed to fill out the waiver and return that, I then came across another stumbling block that I am still waiting for an answer from. What did people do about eamil addresses? I could'nt register my daughter because her eamil address is my eamil address!

You could always just grab her a free email address at yahoo or mail.com.
Edit to add that she doesn't even need to know about it if you are not wanting her to have one.
