After shooting a set in the green dress, Desiree asked if we could shoot something more "edgy" in another outfit. My interpretation of "edgy" for this situation was higher contrast, darker eyes, and some more unusual poses. I'm posting here to see if there are any opinions on the images and if they would work as "edgy" in a model's portfolio.

Great shots. I like the first two and the last two in particular. Much more appealing to me personally than the green dress shoot, so I guess that means they are edgy cause I'm an edgy kind of dude. Excellent work as usual. She should be extremely happy with the results of both shoots.

Not sure how edgy these are, but the shots are very good overall. Seems like similarly post processing the green dress images could have the same overall effect, though. Edgy in my mind means that the model/environment/lighting are all "extreme". So...

Model: woman screaming at the camera or mascara running down her cheeks--basically opposite from barbie doll poses--is edgy
Environment: nature, brick walls, empty warehouses are normal and not very edgy, whereas something out of the ordinary like a background strewn with burning newspaper, is edgier
Lighting: soft lighting from above is so, um, soft. How about back lighting with construction flood lights or something to create dramatic effect.

Just some ideas that might break you out of the model-poses-then-I-snap-pictures mentality. Love the shots though.

Disclaimer: this is all if the model is willing, of course.

Great work David, I have to agree with kosmikkreeper, I love CRW_6799-sepia! The tones, the focus, the pose and composition, everything is spot on imho.

What he said! They are all fabulous, but this one in particular really stands out. Love it!

So I'm looking at these shots and my wife calls up to the office from the house and asks "whatcha doing?" and I says "I'm looking at dirty pictures of a young woman."

Very nicely done, David. I like the second to the last one the best.
