I was just driving home from a movie and noticed how beautiful & full the moon was tonight. So when I got home I took a few quick pics and decided to post. Feel free to comment or add your own moon pics. :0)

Nice shot. I too was hoping to get shots of the full moon tonight, but alas, we are finally getting much needed rain. We've been in a drought all summer so I really can't complain. Wish the rain had come during the Rain Challenge though.

Shot with a Canon D60, 400mm F4L lens and 2X TC (1280 effective MM)

My 'best' was back in May. Too cloudy tonight.

WOW! I'm so embarrassed about mine now!

Your's is nice. But did yo notice how small that moon is in the viewfinder? I have 300mm of reach - I can't imagine how nice 800mm would be!

Exposure is not too difficult. Focusing is hell.

I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have that kind of reach, but I'm not discontent, either... That's all...

Technically the full moon is on Friday (tomorrow) night (unless you're in Australia?).

Well I thought I'd throw mine in.

Hopefull I'll get my adapter, to my telescope, today. That should make for a nice pic.

Can't you simply focus on infinity?

That's what I did... seemed to work ok for me... I just had to be careful not to focus past infinity...

Hard to resist taking a shot at that moon. You're right, it's hard to focus (especially with a manual focus lens).

I got a new lens to shoot the moon with:

(this is actually scaled down)

I rushed this one, the whole thing was shaky. Next time I'll bring some mosquito repellant, so I can have a steady shot.

This is taken through a Celestron powerseeker 127mm reflector.

Practicing with my new camera... manual focus and exposure... 300mm 35mm equiv... sharpened and cropped for my 1024 x 768 wallpaper. In reading the DPC tutorial, it says there should be a icon to insert image or hyperlink, but I don't see the icon :( but here is a link to my DPC posted image...

hummm, maybe manually putting in will work...

nope
