Me and the wife are heading to Atlanta for a weekend away, is there any photo ops that we can not miss? We will be staying out by Stone mounatain and catching a game on Sunday. Any ideas would be fabulous.

There are LOTS of places to go...Piedmont Park, Atl. Botantical Garden, Oakland Cemetery, Little 5 Points has very...umm...photogenic people and MANY different cultures if youre looking for street photography. Also, go to //www.accessatlanta.com and see what else is going on that weekend...you can look in lots of different communities.
Well, gotta go. Let me know where you guys decide to go to and if I can be of any help message me. I live about 10 mins from downtown.

Oakland Cemetary is a must! Good place to practice composition and it's really interesting!

There's the Carter Museum, The High Museum, Cullenwolde (sp?) Estates (Old Coca Cola Owner's Mansion) OH, and the BRICKS! That is downtown near the Apparel Mart....during the '96 Olympics, they made this fountain area....all the bricks were purchased and have names all over them and the fountains are awesome! Then there is Underground Atlanta that you can take MARTA to and get off there then take the shuttle from there to the Brave's Game.

If you want more, let me know!

While at the Ted, you can get nice skyline shots from the SkyField area. It's where the giant Coke bottle is waaaaaaaaay up above left field. Take the escalators up to the 400 level seats. Can't miss it. (And there's a misted walkway you'll need in the summer heat -- just keep the camera covered.)

After the game, you can take the MARTA shuttle ($1.75 exact change when you walk on the bus) from the stadium to Five Points station, right next to Underground Atlanta. Underground is a tourist trap, but you can get some nice shots of the downtown buildings from there. Woodruff Park is a two minute walk north (up Peachtree); you'll get closer to the buildings and lots of people candids of all the chess players. Just get out of there before it gets dark.

You can also follow this thread for some photo op ideas.

Oakland Cemetary, Little 5, Virginia Highlands and Midtown-the last 3 for people watching. Oakland Cemetary and Grant Park are very close to the Braves stadium and not too far from Little 5. Good restaurants too. To clarify, Little 5 Points and 5 Points Marta station are NOT the same thing.
