TWO favourites with a low score. To me means it's a "controversial" subject. Well, as controversial as Rain can be. The type of photo people either love or hate, which I think is a very good thing, in my own, perverse reasoning. I wouldn't be surprised if you get more favs and your score goes up more than usual.

Hey thanks Slippy :) My image like most of the submissions do not show "rain" but an indication of it. There are many parts of the country like in California that rain doesn't really come by this time of year so I had to be creative. There's nothing controversial about my shot. IMHO, it's clean and one of my best submissions to date. Having a low score and this many favorites this early in the game is surely an indication to me that my image appeales to only a few. Like bear_music who takes photos for his own satisfaction, so do I. Unfortunately, no rain is apparent hence the low score. If people score my image the same as the others with no rain present, this would be a low scoring challenge IMHO. I'm happy qith two favorites eventhough my score is below average :) Well maybe the late voters can give me a boost or hopefully people look at the images again later after completing their votes and bump a few higher than what they originally gave them :)

How are you doing with this challenge Strike? Good luck to everyone :)

Man! This time I thought to myself.."this is it! This one will get me the ribbon!!!"....then I opened up the challenge entries and saw all the amazing pictures that are way better than mine and I thought to myself.."maybe the top 50?" still pretty happy with my score.

On an upward trend. I get the feeling some people are looking for hard pouring rain.

Was up to 5.49. Still, I am pleased with the score more than the picture. I took several shots and my BG was not what i wanted in this one, but the rain is nicest in it. I wanted to try something else, but ya gotta have rain! Or perhaps a hose...

....but snow is still NOT rain. hehehehehehehehe

Personally seeing eleventy photos of just rain pouring down would be boring. Seeing everybody's interpretation of rain (puddles, etc.) is interesting. The beauty of photography is that it is part science & part art. Interpretation is a large part of art. We're part artists and we're arting!

Personally I am rather sick of all the watery flower shots. I mean they are beautiful but cliched. I scored them appropriately to skill and tried to not let my bias get in the way but there are SO many flower shots it made me sad. I love flower shots as much as the next guy (witness my portfolio) but c'mon.

I HATE flower shots as much as the next guy but try as hard as I can to vote them on skill. I gave a few 8's on ones with interest.

In my not so humble opinion, it's difficult to take a bad flower shot but it's really hard to take one that's interesting or different. Think about it....their beautiful, brilliantly colorful, shapely....they don't blink, they stand perfectly still and are usually hanging around in pretty good light.

Wow Annah - you're kicking butt! I was stoked at first when I had a 7.3 (for a short while), but it's been ALL downhill since... Don't get me wrong - I'll take a 6 any day, but if I don't stop falling I'll be in the basement by the time voting ends! :-)
