Has anyone read Real World Colour Management, by Bruce Fraser? If so, what did you think? Worth it?
I've been very happy with both "Camera RAW" editions, and am wondering if this book will help...

I have it and have read it more than once and refer to it all the time. This book really is _the_ book to read to understand color and what you need to understand the whole workflow, like ICC profiles, what they are why you need them ....just cant say enough about it. I will buy anything Bruce Fraser puts his name on.

I read both Fraser's book and Tim Grey's book, Color Confidence, and I liked Grey's book better. It's written specifically for digital photographers and, imo, has more useful and applicable information than Fraser's book. The Fraser book is written for printers and all others who need to know about color management, goes into a lot more depth about the science behind color management, including the biology of sight, but I thought Grey's book was more enjoyable. The Fraser book reads more like a college text. Either one, though, will vastly expand your understanding of color.

I have the Fraser text, and would highly recommend it. As Olyuzi posted, it does go into incredible depth, as a matter of fact I skimmed some areas that were not really applicable to me. If you're looking for technical completeness and a to-the-point style, this is the text. I still felt comfrotable reading it, it was not terribly dry as some very technical books can be.

I'm with you, Vince. I'd read everything he puts his name on as well.

As with both of the Camera RAW books, I only ever skimmed it the first time, but with subsequent reads, everything became clear, and I read every detail and understood every part of it.

Both Olyuzi and Kirbic have valid points though, I too skimmed over non-pertinent info after my head started to explode. But I know when I can learn from someone's style of delivery and I enjoyed this book. I will have to check out Tim Grey's book
