My son Jake is 10, and picked up a camera for the first time yesterday. He is very keen to get some comments, so if anyone would like to take a peek I am sure he would be thrilled.

He is under my portfolio - Jakes photos

Thanks all!

Way to go Jake. Now just put Mom's camera down. We don't need another (even younger) Joey on the loose! ;-)

Just kiddin ya. Tell your Mom you need a 20D and some L Glass for your 11th birthday.

Great shots. all around very well done. Especially for someone so young. I can only wish that my efforts at that age (and still sometimes) were that good. Guess it runs in the family.

thank you all for your kind words. Jake is at school right now but i am sure when he gets home and sees all the comments, he will be VERY excited. You should all see the smile on his face about all of this.
Even this morning, he was asking me to buy him a rebel or a D70. LOL. I can see this is going to cost alot of money ;)

Is 10 too young to get him a screenname on here and allow him to submit to some challenges? I wish I was into photography when I was younger, but could never afford it (film was expensive to buy, then develop, etc). I think photography is a great way to spend your energy especially at a young age as it will help him to be more creative in the future probably.

If it's not too young, I'd get him a screenname and let him enter challenges. But remember, at that age, don't make him do stuff...heh not that you would, just saying.
