Hey, that sounds exactly how I feel about golf!!!

And bowling ...

Hey General - leave my half-hazard bowling out of it! lol My league starts end of the month.

Unfortunately, I'd say my lifetime bowling and golf averages are just about the same ... not a good thing in either case.

My two strongest reasons: theraputic -- I don't drink, do drugs or smoke cigarettes so I have to have some outlet!

and it communicates beyond words -- I may not know the word for friendship in every language but if I see a picture of kids sharing a PBJ I know that's it.

I love photography for many reasons. I could never list all of the reason why I love photography but here are a few, and I'm sure later on I will think of more and most likely post them too since it's a friday night and I don't have anything to do.

1. It's in my blood. I had a grandmother who is my idol. I have never got a chance to meet her, she died when my father was 7 years old. She kept many journals though and one day when I was a kid I found them. She wrote letters to me in them, even though I wasn't born. She would call me "her future". She was an artist and a writer just like me, and my first camera was a poloroid camera that she bought. I have been compaird to her my whole life.

2. I am addicted to my shutter button. I love the feeling I get when I make the photograph that is in my head. As most artist I have talked to, I push an idea around in my head for weeks before actuly creating it.

3. I am a very emotionaly based person, I love my camera or art in genral because it's my outlet. I love just leaving with a camera in my hand and making pictures of how I feel. Granted I have taken alot of bad pictures, but I have also taken a few good pictures.

4. Photography is the only thing I could ever see myself doing for the rest of my life. I couldn't imagine working as anything else but an artist. Ever since I was 8 years old I knew what I wanted to do in life.

5. Photography is my drive, my passion, my worship. (I hope this doesn't effend anyone)I am very grouned in my faith and I feel that photography is a part of my worship. I can make a photograph but I feel that God makes my subject. I'm not trying to force anything down anyones throat, I hate "turn or burn" mentalities. I am willing to talk of my faith but I respect that worship is a personal thing.

6....more to come later, I'm going out to get something to eat and take some pictures with this wonderful summer lighting.

I love it for the reason of expressing myself,,to be able to create something that hopefully someone else hasnt created. To be free, to go out and just start shooting and then see what happens. I want to be different just like everyone else here.

I had a fashion photographer tell me that he spent all of high school trying to get girls to take off their clothes. He didn't figure it out until later that if you have a camera, all you have to do is tell them to take them off.

The chicks.
No doubt about it

...And the toys
And that satisfying click when you push the shutter...
And, well, all of it

Because I sold my boat and I needed another "hole in the watrer" to pour money into. Come on, you know you all like the spending part the best. Like a kid on Christmas eve you sit at home all day on the day UPS is scheduled to deliver your new .....

so i have blackmail pics. :)

seriously, a lot of the reasons people have said already.
i like being able to capture that moment in time, and also through the power of cropping and skills, taking something that might not be so beautiful or interesting and making it appear beautiful and interesting.

I like this reason!

Thanks for sharing it!

I feel I love photography because I am mentally unstable. I love the way the sublight reflects off the tripod legs in the morning. It looks like...

I am an optimistic positive person. It is my nature. I am also a 26 year old trapped in a 54 year old body, but I digress.

That being said, the world is major league broken with many many bent and broken people. I am uplifted by the fact that the world mostly "works" often in spite of itself.

I dont really hate it - just wish I took clearer shots. Anyone want to donate a good lens or two to my cause? It will help you in return as you won't have to look at my fuzzy fotos in the challenges anymmore. I'm too broke to buy better glass.
