I'm considering getting myself a tripod.
My criteria:

light-weight
foldable (super compact sized)
affordable

Anyone with stories or experience to share about their tripods, pls shout. And if you have suggestions, pls kindly include name or URL, so I can check more details about it, thanks!

I bought a Velbon CX 150 -- very lightweight, about 22 inches long when folded up. So light, the only problem is I sometimes forget I'm walking around with it and leave it at my last photo stop (I did that today while walking around at the Experimental farm, as I switched between using it & not).

I have an Ambico (I don't know what model).
I had the same criteria, and I'm very happy with this one.
I don't think you could find more light/compact/cheap.
I bought it something like 25 bucks at circuit city.
Hope this helps.

I have a Sunpack Tripod which I like a great deal. It's very light...I carry it in my bag whenever I'm out with no problem, it's easily manueverable and folds up pretty small. I got mine for around $20 on ebay. Sunpack has some other even smaller tripods, too.

I'd just recommend you to go to the local camera shop to find out (Fotokem?). I also did a search on the internet for tripods but the exchange rate and shipping fee is too prohibitive. I ended up with a Sakure brand (Hong Kong made) from Fotokem for RM55.

Ive got an ambico, and it is very wobbly at full extension. Its definatly worth having one, they are so cheap, you can just let it rattle around in the botton of a rucksack, and it makes a great second support for reflectors flashes and torches.

My uniloc is good, but too heavy for 'tourist' type photograph such as camping and visiting museums.

Ive also got a couple of very small tabletop tripods that fit into my back pocket.
