Can anyone confirm where this spot comes from? I keep getting what can only be described as oily spots on some shots...Is it the lens...or the sensor or...ME?

I can barely see something on the right that looks like sensor dust. (about half way between the right most umbrellas and the top edge)

It is the famous 20D Dust Bunnies. We all have them especially if you change lens often. No way to avoid them due to the static charge of the sensor. That saying, some are worst than others. My 20D came directly from the factory with the little devils. Use the instruction that comes with the camera to lock the mirror up and use a blower (rubber sqyeeze toy thingy) to blow them off. Yup they will return, so just remember to blow them off before any real important photo ops. Good luch and I hate them too, makes me want to start bunny hunting again.

If they don't appear until you are stopped down say to F16 or F22, they are on the sensor. Looks like a dust spot to me.

Thats my bunny, who's been in my camera ... I want it back. Yes in most cases the sensor clean instructions will work just fine.

The sensor clean function ust allows you acess to clean the sensor. Take a pek at the manual, you'll see it covered there. You can try blowing it out with a hand blower bulb (DON'T use canned "air", it will contaminate the sensor). If blowing it out does not work, and it eventually will fail to remove it all, if it even does so the first time, then use the copperhill method.
