Paris? I heard they have quite an impressive tower over there...

Random useless fact: The Eiffel tower is copyrighted at night, but not during the day :-)

Really? What about dusk and dawn?

As soon as they turn on the lights on the tower, it's copyrighted. It's classed as a 'light show'.

One of the coolest things you can do in Paris is to climb the towers of Notre Dame and hang with the Gargoyles. The entire structure is beyond belief and there's so much detail that you could never imagine just from seeing the photographs.

It's one of the greatest cities in the world. There's so much to do it's hard to start a list but there will NEVER be a shortage of photo-ops, be certain of that.

Le Marais is very old and very beautiful. It's just off center of the city on the Right Bank. It would make for a nice walking tour from Les Halles to The Bastille.

Have fun.

Oh Paris! Lucky you! :)
Everything is wonderful!

The Louvre
Museum d'Orsay
L'arc de Triomphe
Les jardins de Tuileries
Place Vendome
Basilique du Sacre Coeur - Montmartre (wonderful!)
Notre Dame (the most scary cathedral I've ever seen! :O)
Versailles (wonderful)
L'Opera
Centre Pompidou (modern!)
...the Tower of course! And many others! Euro Disney! :D

And make a tour by night in the bateau-mouche! It's stunning by night!

Enjoy this wonderful trip! :)

The best view of Paris is from the Tour Montparnasse. It's mostly locals who picnic there watching the sunset. Very few tourists go there...

redux dax

...with these additions:

the st. sulpice (amazing de la croix paintings *on the walls* of this dark beauty)
the medici fountain at the luxembourg gardens (a classic paris photo op)
st chappelle (near notre dame and a doozy of a "little" cathedral. window windows windows)

have a great trip.

Museum d'Orsay - formerly a train station, it houses the largest collection of impressionism in the world.

Les jardins de Tuileries - gardens, people sunning themselves by the fountain.

Montmartre - the last village of Paris. Also called "painted hill". Take pictures of Sacre Couer. This is where artists for decades have been meeting and creating. Try to find the inspiration for van Gogh's "Cafe de nuit" here.

Rue Mouffetard - a walk street in the Latin Quarter. There are many vendors selling anything from meat to cheeses in this open market area. Grab a quiche lorraine at the Café Mouffetard and some pressed coffee and watch the market bustle.

Jardins et Palais du Luxembourg - a palace, sprawling lawns, flowers, trees.

For delicious Italian food (yes, Italian) go to:
Convivium
5, place Victor Hugo
75016 Paris
RĂ©servations : +33 (0) 1 42 63 48 18

And then of course, you can just walk around this terribly beautiful city and see picture opportunities everywhere from the windows flanked with flower boxes to the architectural detail in the buildings.

I am jealous that you are going and I am not! Can't wait to see your photos.

Not sure if you can still do it but we climbed the first part of the tower via the stairs and then caught the lift to the top (they had closed the stairs to the top by the time we were there). Amazing views if you go just before sunset and see the sunset on the way up. Nice for pics as well :-)

d'Orsay is great - even just the building.

Certainly go to the roof of Notre Dame.

la Defense(sp?) is worth a visit (modern arch) - modern buildings in the main square and some good exibits.

Sit on the footpath anywhere and what the world go past.
