I'm very interested, if there's still space available.

Don't worry, they let me in, didn't they?

Just to add... I've just ordered 'Photography and the Art of Seeing' & 'Photographing the World Around You'.

The next thing you know, I'll be getting an apple for teacher.

We'll leave membership open through tonight.

Looks like the "Art of Seeing" is the one most readily available to us.

You got room for another in this little group? - it really does sound like a very interesting topic "Art of Seeing". I have to admit I haven't seen any FP books here in the UK, but I'm sure I can lay my hands on a copy.

I think you should take my spot, as I don't really think I'll have time to do the assignments.

It's available on Amazon UK so I suspect you should be able to find it at one of the larger book stores.

edit: I think faster than I type & fixed link

Count me in! I'll order the book tonight.

17 members--I think we'll stop here for "voluntary" opt-ins. There are a few DPC photographers that I think will be good to recruit to round this group out, so I want to reserve a few spots before we get too big.

You are on the list whether you actively or partly participate. There are no homework "requirements", we just want to generate discussion, have fun, and learn.

So is it just "The Art of Seeing" for starters?
I'm going to put in an order tonight.

The "Art of Seeing" seems a good place to start to me, and no one has yet countered my "motion" to use that first.

I'll second the 'Art of Seeing'. There appears to be a new edition of this book that includes Digital. I wonder if the exercises are different or if there's just additional ones.

I think "art of seeing" is a good book to get to know Patterson a bit, and it seems like a good choice for this project.

For myself, I would sort of prefer one of the other books, simply because "art of seeing" is the one with which I'm most familiar, and I'd prefer something new. But "art of seeing" is fine.

As far as I can tell, they are the same (I bought the new version for my oldest daughter just a couple weeks ago).

Edit: cover photo is different :)

I'm going to pick up Photography and the Art of Seeing and Photographing the World Around You during my lunch break today. The two books seem to be complimentary with more assignments in the second (based on descriptions).

I bought Photography and the Art of Seeing, as well as Photography of Natural Things last night, as those were the two books for sale in my local bookstore. I read through Photography and the Art of Seeing quickly last night, and I'm looking forward to working on some of the exercises. :)
