| I have been wanting to have a get together for a while. But for the fear of not having a DSLR I have not done it. But I finally thought "the hell with it" So if anyone wants to have a GTG in N. Georgia then let's schedule a time in August and do it. Who is in? |

That would be Georgia the state. :-) I was thinking the same thing, not long ago, as there are quite a few folks from here and around here, enough to have a fun little GTG anyways. My only request would be that we have it once it cools off and dehumidifies a bit. :-D
But that's just me being a big baby!! I'll stop whining now. ;-)

I am with ya on that. I don't know how people made it without AC
Karmat....I am sure it could be close enough for you and the old man to come(maybe)I need someone else there without a DSLR to make me look like I belong. :-) I just want to get together and take photos and eat. |

I could do this, but it would mean I would have to all the way to Helen back ;-)
Seriously, I'll have a free evening and morning next Thursday/Friday. I'm driving up to Atlanta Thu afternoon from Auburn, AL. Flying home Friday mid-day, so I have all of Thu evening/night and up to about 09:30 Friday. Anybody wanna go shootin??

Would love to but I am working Thursday and Friday. I could take off but need to save my time for all these job interviews. |

Can I come too? I'm in SC, just outside of Greenville.
I'd probably have to bring the kids, tho. They're 6 & 4. Would that be a problem?

September: 3, 10, 17, 24
Any of those dates will be fine by me. If anyone is going north on 75 to get there let me know and I can meet you so we can teither take one vehicle or follow. |

hmmm oktoberfest.... Helen... OMG I remember one time on a trip to GA, we got stuck in traffic going through Helen....... 4 or 5 hours......

I know for sure I won't be able to do Sept. 17 or 24th. I'll be in California one or both of those days. But I'm pretty sure the other dates are do-able. I have two kids as well, but they're pretty young so I'll most likely find a babysitter at least for the youngest.

August might be too close. Is September 3rd Labor day weekend? If so let's do Septemebr 3rd. Most will be off work that Monday and it will be an easier driver for those furthest away.

Well I don't know if I can make it but I would try my best. I'm a 190 miles from Helen, GA. and I agree it is beautiful.

Yep, Monday Sept. 5th is labor day. That could work for us or against us as some might already have labor day plans.
Fritz, I'd love to try to get in some shooting, although it would depend on two things: I'm leaving for the DC get together Friday morning so that's out, which means I'd have to get all my packing done and the kid's stuff together for granparents house in order for me to get out for a couple of hours Thursday evening. Might prove difficult. :-) Are you going to the "NotaCon"? I saw your name on the tentative list.
