WOW!!
I just started playing with super "macro Jacko" inspired setup: Sigma 105mm macro + 50mm inverted. And I'm having a blast!!! I couldn't believe it at first but yes! I can see my reflection in the spider's eye! Here a 100% crop.
ManI was about 1cm away from it and it let me shoot it for a good 3 minutes. when it would move I would freak out thinking it would swallow me whole!! :-)

cool shot! i have the same set up, its quite amazing how close you can get to things, i believe at full 1:1 with the 50mm attached you get 2:1 or pretty close to that ratio.

kosmik, will you post a link to the macro lens and 50mm that you have. I am interested in price and supplier that you would recommend. Thanks. Or anyone else with suggestions for a D70.

My entry in "Mirrors"...
...didn't fare well, but is a good example of just this. In the spider's eyes, you can see the round, silver lens mount of the reversed 50/1.4, and if you look carefully you can see the flash diffuser as well. Too subtle, I guess, LOL.

Wow! Kirbic. I missed that one! very cool! I wondered why your DOF wasn't so shallow and knowing that the spider was only 5mm long answers my question. :-)
