I would like a challenge where people are to take a picture at night. Where it's obvious it's night time. I think that might challenge a lot of people well.. any thoughts?

No, I demand to do yellow, then pink, then orange, then maroon, then "colors without desaturation." Tack silver and gold on just to make the Crayola collection complete.

then I'd like to try pets. and then "animals not pets." And then "black and white animals but not at night." And then...

This IS a serious suggestion. I realize how hard it is to take a good photograph at night. I would like to see how a lot of people handle this sort of situation, and what kind of original ideas pop out.

Night photography would make an excellent challenge and i`m sure there will be one sooner rather than later.

Night time photography must be one of the last major fields of photography not yet covered by a challenge.

The 6th challenge was a 'night shot' so it has been done before. Not that I'm against doing them again though. There are a lot of good themes that were in the early challenges that would be worth running again.

I'd recommend careful choosing of the date for this, as it would not be that useful for Northen Hemisphere folks (and possibly the odd Chillean at -55deg) who may get a couple of hours in the wee small summertime hours at best.

Sounds like a good choice for Feb/March.

Wait till I get my new tripod, PLEASE or I might be doing a blurr of light for night photography.

This would be a good challenge, yes, except for those of us who have really cheap cameras. I've tried night shots with mine, it doesn't work. Ugh.

I'm for the challenge though! It would be neat to see what some people come up with.
