I have scored 8 open challenges since being active on this site, and I enjoyed the Metal scoring best of any of them. So many very high quality shots and imaginative compositions made it a labor of love and a visual feast. Well done to all.
(edit) I used to manage a steelyard, and understand the inherent beauty of metals. I suppose that put in me in a good frame of mind, but just from a photgraphic POV, this was nice. Only three scores of 4 and none lower. Most 8-9-10's I have ever given

Wow - my scores were falling. Then crept back up a bit. Again - this score is not fabulous or in winner contention.
However, it is the fact that 3 people added this shot to their faves that makes me happy!

I'm really glad with the results of this challenge!

However the scores shore up let me just say that the collection of submissions is astounding as a whole. I haven't posted much but I do enjoy looking through old challenges when I've got time and let express my feelings that the metal challenge shows an unparalleled degree of beauty and skill from SO many of DPC's artists.
Bravo to all who participated. |

woot!!! just broke a 5 - i've been in the mid 4's for the first half of the week and the higher 4's the past too days.
Keep on bumping my pic up people - its different but it still fits the challenge!

Only 5-1/2 more hours and we'll know the outcome of this rusty challenge. It's always fun to go through and re-read these threads, clicking on the users that are especially vocal and seeing which shot was theirs.
Who knows? Maybe this is just a low-scoring challenge...lots of open challenges are far below the member challenges score-wise. Perhaps a low six will be the winner, or maybe a select few shots did well and the remainder are in the toilet. Hard to say.
I keep going down with my score...something that doesn't really make me very happy. All the same, it's fun to participate.

weirdest thing. my score jumped up .3 after the vote count. must have been folks who didn't get to 20%, but still...surprising.

| My score jumped up also - I last saw it at about 10 p.m. and it was hovering at about 5.3, and this morning it was 5.5! What a treat! I don't know - as you said, rgo, could be the folks who didn't get to 20%, or could it be that some anomalous voting pattern was thrown out? |
