I was loading songs into iTunes from CDs that I put into my PCs CDrom and after a couple of albums it just quit working. My Computer doesn't even recognize the drive at all. And iTunes doesn't automatically show the album in the drive anymore.

Any thoughts? It was working, then it wasn't. No idea why. iTunes is set to import songs from CD automatically on insert - not happenin'.

Did you recently upgrade iTunes?

What version are you running?

Lori,

Mine did exactly the same sort of thing (iPod and G4). This was an up load to the computer correct? Or were your trying to update your iPod with these songs. Thought I had lost my entire pplaylist. Went into the iTune directory and found the list of songs. However, they were no longer in folders. Folders were simply gone. Had to reorganize them into song groups and copy them back into iTunes. As to why it happened. . . I can only guess that I got too anxious and unplugged the iPod before it was done. Somehow this messed up iTunes.

I was using the cdrom to import all the songs into iTunes and then updating my iPod. But the CDROM apparently vanished..I mean I could physically SEE it (duh lol) but the computer couldn't.

It rectified itself magically a few moments ago. *scratches head*
