I am trying out the MPIX site to get my photos printed as suggested by so many. Everything went fine at first. I created an album and then it said to browse to get photos to upload, so I picked two tif files (which it said large tif and jpgs were acceptable) and I have been trying to get them to upload for about 49 minutes. It looks like it's working but it is taking forever, what if I was trying to do an entire wedding. Does anybody know the length of time it should take to upload a 3M file?

Just a few minutes if you are on broadband.

I uploaded mine pretty quick, everything worked out pretty good. Mpix is worth the price. Best pictures I have ever had developed. I reccomend the metalic paper.

I have DSL so it should be pretty fast, although I have been noticing some lagging. I did a clean up recently and it is running lots faster now though, so
I really should not have any trouble. I am going to try again.
What is the difference in the metallic paper, please describe if you can.

Ok, It's been about 7 minutes with one photo and it's still not done--am I being impatient?

Mpix offers three types of paper. Metallic is pretty awesome. The colors really pop. You can request a free sample of each type of paper. They'll have the same photo on them so you can see the difference.
I have found that sometimes the site is slower than it should be. It might not be your computer.
Good luck.

Well, I looked at my file size and it was 61M tif file at 4000x 5333 pixels. This is huge I guess, but I don't think I did anything to it after it left the camera other than make it a tif ( I hear that tif is lossless) anywho, I did a save as and saved it as a jpg and it uploaded in 1 minute. Seems to like that better. Thanks a bunch for input on paper.

For those of us who live in the land of slow dial up - Mpix has a great new option I am going to try. You can order Disc mailers. You mail a disc you create from your photos to them and they do the uploading then you order. It will help me out a great deal. Mary
