Does anyone else go from one hope to next hope on the scores? When you're sitting at a 4.9, are you hoping for just a few more votes to get you over 5.0? At 5.4, hoping the next vote will get you over 5.5, etc.? After crossing that line, do you immediately start hoping for the next goalpost (the 5.1, the 5.6 or the 6.1)?

Are you crushed if, once you've crossed the 5.5 (or whatever) line, someone votes you down below that achieved goal? This site is all about the thrill of victory and hearbreak of defeat, I tell you.

Both of my current entries are sitting just above and below the 5.5 and 6.0 edges.

I find myself doing that, expecially with higher scoring shots. Whenever I get a lower scoring shot, I just pretty much ignore it all week. Denial I guess, lol.

I'm the same way as Zoomdak. If it's not a great scorer, I forget about it and "hope" my next challenge is better. But if it's scoring high, I watch it the whole time and get disappointed when it goes below it's highest point -- hoping it will bounce back up again.

I hope your 6.0 one jumps up over. There's something about being over 6 that makes it all okay, isn't there?

Good luck!!!

I just hope I can do better. I get good reviews and no severe criticism, yet my scores stay low. (sigh) Subjectivity is tough on the creator!!!

I take conservative images. Not too much outside the box. Quality I feel is very good. I watch the scores and hope I can achieve at least a 5. It is frustrating not to achieve at least a 5 yet I will try using the same method. Perhaps I should start looking outside the box. Do I watch the scores? All the time! I am consumed? My wife says I have gone over the edge! NOT! This is fun. Damm! it dropped below 5.0. Anyway, tring to meet the challanges is very difficult at times and......... Crud!! its 4.9 now!!! As I was saying, OH well! 4.895 I suck! Another beer is on the way!

Tee Hee. . .well. . . Sonya, I think ALL your pictures should have scored over 6!!! But I know what you mean. Someone in another thread was talking about his picture getting hammered at 5.88, and I thought "Hmmmm. Hammered to me isn't 5.8. It's 3.8 like one of my pictures got :)"

Hopefully you've learned by now that there is an Update button under your latest entry's thumbnail and scores in the upper left hand portion of your screen. By clicking this useful tool, you will find that your score is updated for whatever challenges you are currently entered.

If you're still having trouble, please feel free to PM me and I'll try to walk you through it. Don't feel bad, it takes all of us a little while to acclimate to our current surroundings... :-)

Just my 2 cents...

Jimmy

All I hope for is not getting the brown ribbon and having enough comments explaining why my photo sucks!

haha the update button. When i am really score watching i update so much that i can calculate each individual vote coming in. So its like woohooo i just got a 9 then a minute later i get another 3 and im back to reality... and then... update button madness takes over again :-)

bcoble, that is so funny! In a way, I can really relate to that feeling. I think that's why I'm chuckling so much! I just went and looked at your profile and you have some great pictures!!! I don't think your photos suck at all!

Myself, I like getting a high number of comments, even more when they are nice comments. Watching the score drives me crazy and I'm getting real crazy this week!!
