Post your own homemade LOTR pics.

I didn't get the LOTR to mean Lord of the Rings.
I'm a fan, -not a fanatic. I enjoyed the movies but never read any of the books.
I like your shot. Somewhere on DPC is a shot of someone with pointed ears, an elf in the woods I think. Along the same lines.
I've never tried any shots like that but it would be fun to try.
Your shot is good and I knew instantly what LOTR was when I saw it.
Maybe a bit more hair on the foot!! :0}

how about that one:

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/30392/thumb/180754.jpg?0', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/30392/thumb/180754.jpg?0', '/') + 1) . '

That could be frodo or sam with galadriel's light in mordor ;)
Well, maybe not, but it would have been OK for fantasy, no?

Me in armour....

A friend who looks JUST LIKE "Frodo" (if Frodo played an electric guitar)

I'm a fan of the novels, not so much of the peter jackson hackjobs he calls movies. They'd be good if they weren't actually based on anything I 'spose.

"Hackjobs" that took 3 years to produce, that won Oscars galore, that passed the Billion $ in profit...I'd like to be able to do a "hackjob" like that...

Still not as good as the book, imo. Although I really enjoyed the movies, especially the first one. the NZ landscapes really brought middle earth to life

I consider myself a Lord Of The Rings slut.

Here are some of the pictures I used to do of my toys before I got into other photography:

This is the first time I've seen this thread... Trust me, I am an over-the-top LOTR fanatic! LOL I paid $350 for one seat at the exclusive trilogy showing (extended versions of The Fellowship of the Ring & The Two Towers, followed by the full-length version of The Return of the King - 2 hours before anyone else saw it!) LOL I even took off work that day to camp out to get a good seat. It was worth EVERY cent & EVERY moment... (IMHO)

That being said, I haven't tried to imitate anything from LOTR in my photography. I would think that the upcoming Fantasy World theme would certainly be a great place to start.

There are some great shots posted in this thread. Nice work & thanks for sharing!

Sorry, but I just had to rant about my over-the-top feelings about LOTR! Glad to know there are some other fans out there!

:-)

Joey

Your LOTR photography is awesome! They should use your photos to sell their action figures.

I remember reading The Hobbit and LOTR years ago, and have re-read them quite a few times since. The films captured the essence of the books, although some parts were dragged out a bit. The scenery fitted well with how I imagined Middle Earth.

I haven't photographed anything that would really fit...although I do have Smeagol, which came with the DVD set and Gollum, the Weta collectible.

I fancied this as somewhere in Mordor.
