I agree. I knew I should've taken a couple more shots, but I'll live.

I am mightily impressed with the entries. Great pictures.

I, too, am astounded! The creativity abounds! Hats off everyone! Now I am sorry I posted mine.. but glad to be inspired by such great work!

I was impressed with a few of them. I found it kind of unfortunate that some people used the liberal rules of this challenge to apply crappy PS filters to what might have been good photos.

Can I say it's 50% photography and 50% PS?

Some great compositions in this challenge!

Is it just me or is one of the images not loading properly in this challenge?

I am also utterly blown away. Since reverting to dial up I haven't been able to look at all the photos or even vote really, but I'm going to use the school computers and try to comments on all the multi-image photos. Yay for everyone who submitted!

Now I would like to see another multi-image challenge with "Photos Only". Some are way over-processed. Incredible creativity though.

Only three 10s !

Mine is DPC legal!

Too bad it is not fairing too well already. But, there is very tough competition in this challenge. My submission is still tracking inbounds to my typical score - such is life - dropping like a rock from an airplane.

It is humorous that when I make a greater effort with the hope of greater success, then this is the week that everyone else goes over the top. It is simply not fair. Maybe a snapshot submitted next week will fair better? Here's hoping the DPC gods smile down on me this week.

Just wanted to chime in here and say, "I agree!" This is the most impressive set of submission I can recall. Some made me say, Oh wow, why didn't I think if that?

So far, my submission is doing quite well. I was very pleased with it. Appears to be my highest score yet. But I expect a LOT of high scores are being delt out. There are simply so many good ones!

Mine won't do well unless it goes up up up all week! Once the crabby Monday morning'ers are done, that is. ;)

i didn't think that the entries on this round were that great. some good images but overall poor combinations / uses of fonts / borders / beveled edges.

I think the submissions are amazing. Personally, I love having a "free editing" challenge every once in awhile. It keeps my PS skills fresh. I think the winners will be very close - I haven't been able to pick a top 3, more like a top 10.

I actually have to agree with Salparadi... although if you look at them quickly they appear to be amazing... I think you need to take a closer look at the photography here... Personally I found some of the photography to be poor, or quite weak... even though the package might be good, this is still a photography website, and I feel that exemplary photography is what should get the highscores not just someone who knows how to use PS well. Although I think there were some good uses of PS, some of my top scores were given to average subjects that were just shot and composed extremely well! I do think there were some great shots here, but I believe that this isn't the top challenge yet. That's just my opinion though.

What's up with the entries that have only one photo? Saw a couple of those and was wondering if they failed to upload the others or didn't have photoshop, or just didn't care for multiple images at all.
04/28/2003 01:32:35 PM · #23
Having looked at about 50% thus far, i also agree with salparadi. Saw some great layouts with pictures that collectively didn't quite make sense; saw some pictures that built on one another but the layout was not so great; saw some submissions that were cut up in three only because the challenge called for multi-image presentations. Also saw a couple of real nice ones.

Last night, when voting, that one pic that didn't show kept popping up just about every other pic. Would click the double right arrows to move on but then it would be back again two pictures later. Not sure, but it also seemed to mess up the order of the pics as i kept seeing pics that were already in my other windows' selection. Bit annoying.

Is there a way to see the current voting results "during" a challenge? I have only seen the results once the challenge closes and it sounds like some folks are aware of the current votes. I am simply curious if anyone has an answer. Cheers, Michael Martin
