This is from a news article about Photokina, the photo expo in Germany.

"Leading the way is Eastman Kodak who raised the bar for high-end digital SLR cameras to an astounding 14 megapixels and tagged on a mid-level price that, when compared to other contenders, is equally astounding."

Kinda humbling, isn't it?

I love it...:-)

It takes a giant like Eastman Kodak to force other giants into being more competitive with the technology.

Just like computer chip tech....

And Kodak makes their own sensors too....

Problem is that kodak has not been very convincing so far with their digital camera compared to canon minolta or nikon.
I think that a good N megapixel is a better choice than an ok N*1.5 one.

FillFactory supplier of sensor for DCS-14n
Photokina 2002: Belgian electronics company FillFactory
has today announced that it is the supplier of the 35 mm
full frame 13.8 megapixel CMOS sensor used in Kodak's new
DCS-14n. "This new high-resolution CMOS image sensor is the
result of a joint research and development effort that
started about 18 months ago."

I think I might prefer the 11Mp Canon EOS - 1Ds full frame DSLR.
Lots of interesting cameras being announced, it'll be good in a year
or so when it filters down out of pro land.
