If you haven't noticed yet, my entry for the apple challenge was DQed. And it is all my fault. I had done two different post processed images. I entered the wrong image. The one I entered had illegal editing done to it. I realized this when I uploaded the original and saw that there were things that should still be there in an unedited version. I am not upset and I do deserve it. I would just like to appologize to all for not catching my mistake sooner, and would also like to thank all who voted my image so high. But in all fairness I am glad that it got DQed as to stay fair to the others with high scores that did things right. I have uploaded it to my portfolio. It had a few favs and if those people would like to choose it again they can. Again thanks for the votes and sorry if I let anyone down.

This was my entry.

And this was an out take.

A lot of objects have been falling in water lately.

Thanks for being so straightforward and honest about your mistake. And for sharing those two shots with us.

Agreed. Good of you to be honest about the error. Hey, we've all been there! Lovely shots, by the way!

As a consolation: your work is very exciting and you seem to have enough ideas to make any concept work. Get back to the drafting board and then show us your next inventive effort. Watch out for those files. Here is a system I use in naming files. After I make a tiff I begin with the last two numbers of the image hence: 54apple. Any other versions I simply name apple1 and apple2 but I keep the master image for DPC under 54apple. This also helps me access the raw.

if you dont mind me asking what sort of illegal editing did you do? (and would you mind posting the original as an learning example for people not to do)

but i have to say your outtake is imo better than your dq'ed image... it could possible have won a ribbon :-)

Thanks for the comments. Give me a min or 2 and I will upload a small version of the original. I cloned out some glass imperfections and some water drops of this version. I think I blured the blue as well to get rid of some of the lines in the background. It is a blue yoga mat in the background and it has a lined pattern to it.

Now normally I do not like to show the original because it can look nothing like what I end up with, but in this case I should show it, and it isn't really different from the one I entered. Just croped in alot.

it really does suck that it had to be DQ'd, but we appreciate your honesty and know that it was an honest mistake.

if it makes you feel any better, the shot rocks. :)

That stinks. I like the outtake much better. The black background really makes the apples stand out.

Well bru honey...we knew that already! ;)

Seriously...it's a beautiful image and so is the outtake!!! :o)
