I've never had a picture do this, but I started out Monday at 5.7. At one point in the morning on Monday it dropped to 5.6, but then it started gradually climbing, and now it's at 6.037. Usually, my pictures pretty much stay in the range they start in, but I thought it was a picture that should at least score in the 6's, so I'm really happy it's there, if it holds.
I've only had a couple of comments too tho. Hmmmm. It's a very different challenge.

Me too. There are still a few days left, but only one comment that basically said 'very cool'. I am also curious what people think, as mine is fairly unique.

It could be the pict was taken out of the challege dates and got DQ

| Well I am sitting at 4.44 and sad about that but oh well you live and learn,,I should have made sure the size of my pic was viewable for all to see but anyways I shall try harder next time and hope to break my 5's ughhhh,,oh well I shall get there,,smile |

LOL I think i'm one of the few that got that joke :) and a couple of others in the U.S. The rest of the world thinks you're crazy :D making barking noises.

When I looked first thing in the morning Monday I knew it would be bad. I started out at a 5 and knew I was going to do nothing but go down. And It has. Now at 4.608.
The good side is with all the late voting on Apple, that has gone up to 4.8. |

there might be a little hateration going on with this site. Hmmm... im doing a 4.4 ... not a great photo, but no where near an under average photo. I was never the type to gripe about a score but geez !!!! :(

I'm so dissapointed. I did not expect to score high as I know there are some really tallented people here who would do a light only challenge entry and hit the mark. But I did not expect to be scored so low based on the perception that I did not "use" lihgt "add" light. Light is clearly (at least to me) the significant element that adds appeal to my shot. The challenge descriptions said in part:
"the lighting itself is a key factor in your composition"
Light is a key factor in my shot but my score:
77
Views: 115
Avg Vote: 4.9610
I guess I should listen to my intuition and not have entered since I did not do a created light shot. Oh well.

Wow, you guys are harsh (and narrowminded, it would seem ;). I'm at a 5.4868 with 76 votes. Down from about 5.7 at it's best. This is gonna be a long ass week.

well maybe he/she needs glasses! to see what they are looking at :), hang in there amy..some people just don't know how to be constructive..
diffraction,refraction,diffusion,reflection,striation,
glow,colour,hardness/softness,specular......
it's all there - some good some bad, some interesting some not .. |

| There is lighting and there are lights. Some feel the lights should be the subject. Others feel some dramatic display of lighting is required. Many are using subtle and natural light to very good effect. All of those above meet the challenge to me. Subtle lighting sets a very distinct mood and can be a very key element without dominating the photograph. Just my 2c. |
