If there's no anti-american bias among some voters, then explain 7 one's on this photo, a red ribbon winner, using an inovative technique that has been copied many times since this shot:

//dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=2892

The other clue on all the referenced flag shot (except the one with no ones) is the more or less smooth curve from a peak down to just a few votes at the two to three range, then the spike on the ones.

Finally, the flag photos with the biased one votes were all open challenge (at least the ones referenced so far in this thread); the one with no ones was a members-only challenge.

Can anyone point to any examples of flags from other countries, and what reaction they got? Personally, I can't see voting negatively on any country's flag for that sole purpose. But the case seems pretty convincing that it's happening here.

For what it's worth, no she shouldn't have complained about it during the challenge period. But all of the comments here about accepting negative criticism aren't relevent to this issue. The complaint isn't about criticism, it's about expressing a political point of view through voting and comments. There was no implicit political statement in the photo or it's title. It was clearly a flag in the wind, and that's what the title stated. No pro-american, pro-flag captions. The only political statement that has been made throughout this is against the depiction of the American flag. Interesting that those casting the stones are the ones most guilty of the sin....

Very well said and thank you for understanding what I have been saying for the past week.

Troll: anyone who doesn't like my photo and tries to convey that feeling with a comment.

Does that sound about right?

............

Instead of asking for voters to gain our approval first, why don't we ask ourselves if we are too fragile for the comments we may receive? Maybe we shouldn't be posting photos to a public forum if we are not prepared for the reactions we may get....

Ditto

one more ditto!

Sin, not only did you break the rules last week, you whined about your score (not classy), and jeopardized the scores of the other two people who had flag photos.. I thought that was pretty bad.

No matter how hard anyone tries to reason with you, your comeback is the same broken record. You wont hear any other reasoning.... You continue to insist that because ONE GUY left a comment saying he will vote 1's to all flag photos, that every 1 vote you received was from an anti-American conspirist.. You will not even entertain the idea that maybe the photo just didn't appeal to people.

Yeah, sometimes subject influences someone's vote. I dont really care. Deal with it an adapt....

If you think it is fair for someone to vote a one on a photo just because they don't like the subject matter fine. That was all I was saying last week and again this week I am still saying it isn't fair to be voted a one just because someone doesn't like a subject matter! There is more to a photo than just the subject there is technical merit also.
