I am debating over which photo to submit for Fauna Challenge. One is of a cat (singular) and one is of a group of swans. Uncertanties: Cat shot isn't 'animals collectively' as stated in the challenge; Swan shot, do birds come under the of category of Fauna? Please help before it's too late! Many thanks anyone that does help. Tim.

I'd agree with that plan.

OK so I wanna just be clear here... anyone on council whos online now... is it group of animals only? I know the brief is "noun. Animals collectively, esp. of a particular period, region, or environment." Is that animals (species) of a particular period... or animals (a group of animals) of a particular period...

Mega confusion

not like our opinion matters :) but i dont think it has to be a pic of a 'group'. just an animal or animal (s). the 'group' aspect in the definition just refers to the scientific classification.

Biologically speaking, it can be both. So go for a individal, group, flock, herd, etc. of any king of wild animal (zoo represents wild) you want to photo.

The number of animals is irrelevant. I PERSONALLY would tend to vote higher on pictures of animals which are native to an area as opposed to clearly domesticated/household animals, but more on the basis of them being more interesting and unusual than a question of "meeting the challenge." But a great picture of a cat should rate more highly than a lousy picture of swans...

Go with the one you like best, or the one for which you're most desirous of feedback...

We (Site Council) don't really make any decisions except on photos for which a DQ has been requested. Otherwise we're in the same boat as other members.
