Blue sword? Grey hoods and cloaks? What happened to our blue jerseys? and lovely hairdo? Boys and girls all alike, at first I thought we had goatees as well but then it's seems like a 24 hour stubble LOL!

So, um, guess which loser just got back from the midnight showing?

That's right.

And guess what? I saw it on an IMAX screen. A true, sad story: The day tickets went on sale I stayed up until midnight and bought one online. Last night went to meijer's (grocery store kinda deal) to look for a star wars shirt to wear. No luck, so I bought a blank t-shirt and made my own, that read:

PETER
MAYHEW
IS MY
HERO

I wore that to school today, along with a lightsaber on my belt. Then, I arrived at the theater at 7:00. In case you can't count, that's 5 hours before it starts. Ate dinner at BW3s (and dominated at the trivia), and then stood in line with a bunch of friends for the next 3 1/2 hours. Played a game of Axis & Allies in line. Some guy who worked for red bull was giving out free red bulls to the people in line. Then, they let us into the theater, we got a block of seats (there were about 30 people from my school that were there) right in the middle of the imax theater, and waited for the next hour and a half. Some losers (even moreso than yours truly) decided it'd be rad to duel with lightsabers, and there was a guy there with a sign that said "The End of the Republic is Near" (he was there when I drove by at noon yesterday o_O). So a few lightsaber duels took place, and then some radio stations threw T-Shirts at us, and then the movie started. It was only the greatest movie ever, I won't give any details away though. And then, it let out, and one mountain dew later, I was on my way home.

You may not have the same experience I had,

but you'll still get to see a totally rad movie.

May the force be with you!

I went out for a car ride with no intentions of going there to start with... It just so happens that there was a new (and first) movie theater that opened today in my city (Deux-Montagnes has a movie theater now, wow, we're getting BIG) so I happened to drive by and go check it out. I ran into an old friend of mine at the door, asked him if it was sold out. "Nope, plenty of seats available". That's funny because the two last ones, I was supposed to go see opening nights and something always came up.

So without ruining it for folks who will go see it (yeah, we all know what's happening in it, Annakin turns evil, Padme has twins... No big surprise, we knew that since 1977) what did you guys think?

Edit Before someone gets all technical about it, we did not know about the twins until 1983 (Return of the Jedi)

Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

It has long been a belief, held in silence by the citizens of this galaxy, and voiced only in hushed tones, in the secluded refuge of chat rooms, that the great Site Council of the elder wizen ones was not of our race.

:-).

Yehaa, Star Wars avatars! Thanks Konador! (I presume it's you who made them?)
It seems that slowly you US guys get to see the movie too. I'm still bathing in sweet memories of that fantastic midnight screening on Tuesday. Nobody was disguised though :( My girlfriend forbade me to put on any gear if I wanted her to come with me. So I just secretly slipped into my Yoda boxershorts. I'm not crazy, am I?

Oh... no sabers for registered users? Sniff...

I came too late for a light saber? All I see are some planet-of-the-apes-type people with red light sabers--rather scary thought!

Hey Konodor! If you're working on something for us "girls" could I have ear-muff braids like Princess Leia?

The easiest way to check which usericon you've got is to look in the top-right corner of any DPC page, just above the menubar. :o)

Yodamom,
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the refresh button in your browser window.
--Oddly, I saw the SC avatars first while no one else had changed (excepts most of us did appear strangely squat.....)

thank you luckily there was still time to change back to female
05/19/2005 07:23:40 AM · #50
It was a long time ago... the women didn't shave back then!

Actually, when I first suggested the idea of changing the icons I offered to make female ones too if the admins liked the idea, but noone really showed any interest so I assumed it wasn't going to happen, hence I didn't bother with the female ones :P
