Many of you know I've been hanging around here for the past 2 years and have become somewhat inactive over the past 5 months or so.

Wish I could say I wasn't going to stay inactive but I have this very important ongoing project. I'm 25 weeks pregnant with some problems and now I'm stuck in bed and very likely that will continue til the baby arrives. Last week I went into preterm labor and scared the heck out of everyone...myself included. I'm hoping now to make the 28 week mark when chances are a lot better for the little guy.

But now I find myself bored silly and trying to find things I can do from bed. So I'm asking those of you who can help me out to share with me websites and tutorials on how to use Photoshop and Photoshop Elements...time for me to go from PSP to PS. I figure I got several weeks to play with old photos I have saved and see how I can rework them and make them better. In other words if I have to stay in bed I might as well take the time now and learn how to do things with Photo Shop.

You don't have to ask what I need to learn how to do, cause I open up PS and sit here wondering what the heck that foreign program is on my computer...lol...I need tutorials on everything dealing with Photoshop.

I'm not picky I'm greedy...lol

I'd recommend Adobe Photoshop CS for digital photographers.

Have you tried posting a question like this on the DPReview forums? Perhaps the PC or Mac tools forums? Just a thought.

Nah thought I'd post it here...previous experience tells me that everyone here has some fantastic sites tucked away in their favs...its just getting them to share them.

It might just be worth it. I learnt a lot trawling through those forums.

Good luck anyway.

since I'm the one asking guess I should share something first...this was a huge collection of links, some I'm sure no longer work, but it was an idea to be able to save your fav photo related sites...I keep the thread tucked in my favs so I can find it...

I've taken classes on www.ed2go.com and they just opened a new one up a few months back about Photoshop Elements (by Bev Shultz) and I believe they have some for Photoshop (not sure which version). The insturctor for the Elements Class (Bev) is wonderful and the classes are online and very basic and reasonably priced.

I used to learn Photoshop from all over, tutorials, playing around clicking buttons (you don't get very far just by clicking buttons in this one), but the best thing out there (IMO) is the digital book "123 of digital imaging", there is a review on it on dpreview:
//www.dpreview.com/news/0311/03111803ebook123di2.asp

This book is not free, but it surely is worth the price, it teaches Photoshop in regard to digital photography, while other books / tutorials simply teach PS as an image editing software.
It is fully-interactive, unlike regular books/web-tutorials so you can see how images change after being corrected, you have topic-hyperlinking and so on.

Very much recommended.

Edit: Good luck with the baby, we'd all love to see 1-day old photos of him/her :)
